Trouble R2 - D2 Is In Trouble Game

From the Manufacturer

New pop-o-matic R2-D2 Trouble! Engage kids in a new way with the Clone Wars animated R2-D2.The game play of Trouble with the Clone Wars R2-D2 character combine to create a unique Clone Wars Trouble experience. Includes real R2-D2 electronic sounds. Be the first to get your pawns home to win!Trouble is a board game with a simple concept: Be the first player to send your four game pieces all the way around the board, moving spaces determined by rolls of the dice. The "trouble" of the title comes when an opponent's piece lands on a space occupied by your piece, thus sending yours back to the beginning. Parents will likely remember the game from their youth, or at least remember the game's signature gimmick, the pop-o-matic dice roller. The Pop-o-matic is a dome-shaped clear plastic housing for the dice in the center of the board game that automatically tumbles the dice when pressed down and released. This feature, plus the board's plastic slots that hold the game pieces in place, make Trouble a perfect travel game--car or boat motion won't upset the game's progress. It is indeed satisfying to press, slap, or pound the pop-o-matic. It's strong enough to withstand the frustration of the losing player(s). The game's simplicity makes it easy to jump into without elaborate explanations or practice games for new players.

And my 5 year old LOVED it!

I agree that the game is cheaply made but I don't think it is necessarily a problem.

A friend of mine had this game and we had a lot of fun playing with her kids.

Seriously, why are all kids games going downhill? It seems that every time we buy a game, it's made of worse quality materials than before (Hungry Hungry Hippos, Hi Ho Cherry-o, etc). The game itself is fun, especially w/the Star Wars twists and the sound (which, thankfully, has an on/off option!!). My 4-year-old LOVES it and it is a great game for families.

The only reason I am giving it 2 stars instead of 5 is because of the material quality. The pawns are cheap with stickers that peel off easily and they fall over. The board itself is completely flimsy. I wish that companies would stick with the original materials. I remember Trouble being a sturdy game board with pieces that lasted.

This game is very fun, especially the Star Wars way. I agree with the other reviews, though, that is is cheaply made. That's what prompted my writing about it. Almost every time we've played, someone has accidentally hit the board and all the pieces have fallen off. (You wouldn't believe how often the board is hit accidentally) I've made a rule that you're out if you hit the board, because it's so frustrating. The box is also not very sturdy to keep up with this flimsy game. All that being said, it is worth it because it's good family fun, but I wouldn't pay more than $10-12 for it (if that much)

Cute game if you like star wars, but it's kind of cheaply made. I don't think it would hold up too long with kids.

The Trouble games have always been in our household. Now our grandson is into Star Wars so this is a welcome new game for us.

The Star Wars theme and R2 - D2 in the bubble are fun for my son and he loves playing the game. The problem is, the game is made of a board with a sheet of paper sitting on top, being held on by little pegs for the game pieces which fall right off if you bump the board. My son learned to play on my apparently high-quality 30 year old game, which is still in excellent shape after all these years. This one will be lucky to last 30 days. I'm sure we'll get some fun out of it, but it definitely wasn't worth the money.

My 8-year-old son and (by extension) 4-year-old daughter loves Star Wars, especially the Clone Wars. We had the regular Trouble game, but all the pawn pieces went missing. Considering how much they enjoy the game, I came across this and figured it was a great match. And I was right. There are stickers for each pawn piece, each with a Clone Wars character--there's favorites like General Grievous, MagnaGuard, Count Dooku, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Asajj Ventress, Battle Droids, Clone Troopers, and others. The Trouble gameplay is essentially the same as the original, though you can add a Star Wars twist to it. Plus, it makes authentic R2-D2 sounds every time you push the plastic bubble to roll the dice (there is a switch on the bottom to turn it off...my wife took advantage of that). Fun game for all ages, especially Star Wars fans.

Our 10 year old really enjoys playing this game. This game is played the same way the original Trouble game, but with a Star Wars twist. There is an R2-D2 in the bubble with the dice and if R2 is standing after you roll, you get to count it as rolling a 6 and you get an extra turn. I can see where the sounds it makes when you roll can get a little tiresome, but you can turn the sound off! Our family enjoyed playing this game much more than the complicated Star Wars games we have tried to play in the past.

This game is very cute, and kids will love it. It does get a little annoying to most adults. It makes electronic noises each time to pop the popper. It is based on the same rules as regular trouble, but has a few more rules. If kids like trouble and Star Wars they will love this game.
