Book Description

Mia Monroe is running. Running from a person she doesn’t ever want to find her. Running from a past she doesn’t ever want anyone to know. Desperate to find a future, that yesterday, she could only dream of having.

Jordan Matthews likes easy. Easy women. Easy life.

Then he meets Mia.

She’s damaged, troubled and has more baggage than any person can carry. But the more Jordan gets to know Mia-for the first time in his life-he finds himself wanting to try hard for something … for someone … for her.

And then life isn’t so easy anymore.

Jordan is everything Mia shouldn’t want. A whole bunch of dirty hotness, tattooed, cocky bad boy, who made his money at poker tables and picked his women up in bars. Yet, Mia finds herself falling for him. Then the past Mia was running from, quickly starts to catch up with her. Because that’s the problem with running … you have to stop sometime.

And when you stop, you get caught.

Five reasons why I absolutely loved Trouble
1) It's a Standalone

3) Beautiful Epilogue
4) Jordan..... he is swoony and funny .... I loved his banter with Dozer the dog

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Read November 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
MILD SPOILERS INCLUDED:

This book was really beautiful. It definitely had its dark moments, but what came after is what made it a great read.
******************************************************************************************************************

Whats it about:
Our heroine, Mia, has only known relationships to be physically and emotionally abusive. It started with her father, Oliver, who finally died of a heart attack. The scars he left on her went far more than just physical. Not knowing what to do with herself after his death, Mia finally got out and tried to enjoy living life for the first time without the father she always hated. Almost right away she went into her very first relationship with Forbes, a student studying law. He seemed absolutely perfect, that is until he started abusing her. Per Forbes "the abused becomes the abuser" in his case and hers "the abused...stays abused" (or something like that). After catching him cheating, of all things to send her over the edge, this pretty much did. Then when he came to confront her, he tries to rape her and promises her other horrible things. Mia flees and sets out to find her long lost mother who she thought died when she was a baby. She found out that the mother didn't die when she found papers while going through her dad's stuff. Those papers contained an address.
Our hero, Jordan, is the typical hard core party guy character. Dark past, dark present with an expected dark future. He feels like he is the black sheep of the family and hates himself for the problems he has caused his father. His mom passed away not too long ago and his father and he have a strained, but good relationship. He runs the towns nicer hotel with his father, who owns it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing November 21, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I absolutely loved The Storm Series, so I had high expectations for this book. They fell flat. I thought the story was just okay and the characters not incredibly likeable. I am not opposed to flawed characters, but some of the scenes were just yuck. I read the entire book because I hoped for it to improve, but I just wasn't a fan. There was not a whole lot of action, and then I felt that things wrapped too quickly in the end. Despite this book, I think the author is great--I just don't think this was her finest work.

3.0 out of 5 stars Took Way too Long to Get Good November 26, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Like many, many others I am a big Samantha Towle and Jake Wethers fan, however this book missed the mark a bit. I found it very slow and while I am not against insta-love, this time it bothered me while reading. It seemed too unlikely for Mia to feel anything for Jordan after what she had just fled and grew up with.

There is lots and lots of story before we get to Mia and Jordan, let alone sexy Mia and Jordan. I would say the book didn't really catch me until the twist and then it finished strong. Not too sure what I needed from Mia and Jordan to change my mind, maybe a little more time between her past and present love life

Picked this book by chance. It was cheap and I was bored. However, that being said, this book is so addicting. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. Mia and Jordan's story is painful yet beautifully written. I cried for Mia and Jordan as if I knew them. Highly recommend Trouble.
