Book Description

August 2001
It's a few years into the future and there's been a huge discovery of oil in Trinidad-Tobago. The U.S. is sponsoring a Carribean free trade conference in Dallas hoping to gain influence over this vast supply of oil. Kevin Wells, an American high school student, is serving on a ROTC color guard at the conference when he sees a terrorist taking aim at the Prime Minister of Trinidad-Tobago. He has but a few seconds to try to stop the assassination attempt or do nothing. In those few seconds his life and the fate of a nation stand in the balance. If he acts, he may die. If he does nothing others will surely be killed and a democratic government may fall.

More About the Author

I'm originally from Ventura, California where I grew up during the 50s and 60s. My wife Janet and I were married while I was attending UCLA and she was attending nursing school. We immediately started having children and had three boys and a girl by the time I graduated from SMU Law School. With four young children we decided to stay in Dallas, where we had family and friends, rather than returning to California. I started law practice in the late 70's and today practice consumer law with my son, Jim. About twelve years ago I took on a famous romance author as a client and, after working with her for a while, I started wondering if I could write a novel myself. Eventually I gave it a shot and found I really enjoyed the writing process. After that it only took a few generous reviews of my first novel and I was hooked. My current novel, Tarizon: Civil War is my fourteenth and my goal is to continue to write a novel a year for the rest of my life.

1.0 out of 5 stars Trouble in this book, June 8, 2004

"Trouble in Trinidad" is weak, pulp writing at best. The author shows little depth at developing believable characters, especially the main character, Kevin. The worst part is when the main character seriously encourages his love interest to "just forget" the fact that she was raped--and she agrees that's the best way to deal with the problem. Just block something terrible out of your mind. It'll go away! My girlfriend said it was obvious that a man was the author. "Trouble in Trinidad" gave me hope that I could write a novel!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun reading, November 14, 2009
I enjoyed this book. The main character tries his best to do what is necessary to keep within his moral beliefs. Adventure and romance, with intrigue mixed in. We need more people like Kevin in this world. Fun read.
