More About the Author

MARGARET TANNER
Margaret Tanner is an award winning multi-published Australian author. She loves delving into the pages of history as she carries out research for her historical romance novels, and prides herself on being historically correct. No book is too old or tattered for her to trawl through, no museum too dusty. Many of her novels have been inspired by true events, with one being written around the hardships and triumphs of her pioneering ancestors in frontier Australia. She once spent a couple of hours in an old goal cell so she could feel the chilling cold and fear

Her favorite historical period is the 1st World War, and she has visited the battlefields of Gallipoli, France and Belgium, a truly poignant experience.

Margaret is a member of the Melbourne Romance Writers Group (MRWG).
She won the 2007 Author of the Year at AussieAuthors.com. She also won it for a 2nd time in 2010.

Frontier Wife, won the 2010 Reader's Favorite Historical Romance Award.

Wild Oats was a finalist in the 2010 EPIC awards for best historical romance.

As an unpublished manuscript, Fiery Possession was short-listed in English Publisher,ChocLit Find An Aussie Star competition, in December 2012.

A Rose In No-Man's Land won an un-published manuscript award through RWA (Romance Writers of Australia), several years ago.

Format: Paperback
This books carries on from Wild Oats which I recently read and enjoyed so much that I had to read The Trouble With Playboys. I wasn't disappointed in it. It has all the same fabulous characters, the villainous Sir Phillip Ashfield and the virtuous Allison, but it is really the story of the next generation. Paul and Daphne. It is set during the 2nd world war and Margaret Tanner's description of war time Singapore and Malaya was so realistic and vivid I almost felt I was there. This is a true romance and Daphne and Paul have so many obstacles to overcome before they could find true happiness together,I sometimes feared that I wouldn't get the happy ever after ending that I craved. But the author didn't disappoint me.
