3.0 out of 5 stars clinical but not emotional, April 28, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Troubled Journey: Coming to Terms with the Mental Illness of a Sibling or Parent (Mass Market Paperback)
Well structured book and well researched. Good job on synthesising the onset, denial, reaction and acceptance of mental illness. I was expecting more "guidance" on facing the emotional burden of growing in a dysfunctional family.
Was not of great psychological help, gave me no new insights, hence my lowish rating of 3 stars.
Probably a good starter for references if NEW to the issue about illness and its effect on family members. I would not recommend as a self-help for veterans.
I invite other readers to write reviews on what they read, I find them very useful.
All the best!
