15 song placements in film and television of AM's 10-song debut record, include "Gone Away" in Tom Hanks' HBO hit series "Big Love" (currently airing on Channel 5 in the U.K.), "Playing The Game" and "Mainstay" in ABC's "What About Brian", and three seasons of MTV's "Real World". AM's songs can also be heard in the 2006 award winning Sundance Festival film "DREAMLAND" (with Gina Gershon), the film "THE NAKED APE" which played at the 2006 Seattle Film Festival, and the upcoming cult film sequel "BUTTERFLY EFFECT II" which goes to DVD October 10th, 2006.
AM began his musical development surrounded by rock-n-roll but heavily influenced by the indigenous sounds of New Orleans which include country, bluegrass and roots music. Born in Oklahoma and raised in New Orleans, he grew up listening to Motown, Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles and started playing music in local bars at the age of 15. After graduating from Loyola University in New Orleans with a degree in Philosophy, AM moved to Los Angeles where he began playing frequently at the then newly formed Hotel Cafe. The Hotel Cafe's songwriter nights, hosted by musical artist Gary Jules (best known for his rendition of Tears for Fears' "Mad World") was the place that AM began to develop his sound.
Approached by producer Jamie Myerson (Duncan Sheik, David Poe, Paul Oakenfold, Sneaker Pimps and former Ovum recording artist) to record an album, the duo collaborated on AM's debut album producing a classic, yet current amalgam of music. AM brings a new twist to pop music following in the footsteps of less obvious pop icons such as Beck, Wilco and The Flaming Lips. Above all it's AM's uncanny ability for writing perfect acoustic-pop hooks and his soothing voice that really sell this wonderful debut record. From Americana to folk-rock, AM's songs weave multiple variations of the pop medium with the richness of southern sounds.
AM has shared the stage with such notable acts as Gary Jules, Rhett Miller (The Believer/Verve), Amy Correia (Lakeville/Nettwerk), Bob Mould (Husker Du/Sugar), and Glen Tilbrook (former Squeeze songsmith) and is getting ready to hit the road both in the US and UK this fall in support of his debut album "Troubled Times".

Great All Day Long,

AM's songs are always very well crafted with musicality and simplicity. Sometimes I feel like this album functions as a soundtrack to my life; songs like "Troubled Times" wake me up in the morning while melancholy pieces like "Losing You" are perfect for the evening. Regardless of how good each song is, I recommend listening all the way through to really get the mood. If you are at all intrigued, definitely check it out.

My son, Brian Keats, played drums on this CD with AM. Last one he recorded before his death on January 12, 2010 from colon cancer. So proud. Great job Bri!!!!!!!
