Arne Fogel presents a smooth collection of classic songs. He is a master lyricist with a great back-up group in the Wolverines Quartet. Excellent late-night listening.

It's easy to see why Arne has such a loyal local following. He has a mellow jazz style which really delivers lots of enjoyment and happy feelings. He even makes one song - "On The Street Where You Live" - which I have never liked, sound absolutely fantastic! On the other hand, Arne can more than do justice to the heartbreaking song "A Cottage For Sale" and brings you right into all of the feelings you could possibly expect - as if the situation were real.This CD also benefits from the excellent musicians backing Arne. I was lucky enough to be able to catch this super performer in his local venue and was, therefore, watching for this CD. The only question now is when is a great jazz label like "Concord Jazz" going to discover him? |
