My friend had suggested the first two books in this series which I absolutely loved and could not put down, they were laugh out loud funny. So I was anxiously awaiting the release of the third book to come out. Excitedly, I downloaded it on the day it came out and began to read....
Drew and Jenny were funny as minor characters in the first two books, but this book about them only focused on stupid humor and gross sexual jokes. I don't have a problem with either, I enjoyed the humor and sexual content of the first two but this was just a nonstop barrage of it that it took away from the rest of the story. Sure, it's funny how Jenny has a problem confusing words... Every once in awhile, but I felt every other page it was happening again. It got real, old real, fast. I get it, they are the crazy friends with the over the top sex life, but a whole book about it was really hard to get through. I hate writing such a negative review when I found the other books to be hilarious with characters I loved, but this one just missed the mark for me unfortunately.

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only person who thought this wasn't anywhere near as good as book 1 or 2. I was trying to get through the book and kept reading 5 and 4 star reviews of it and thought maybe I was missing something. Then I read a review that wrote exactly what I was thinking. I really enjoyed the first two books. Especially the first one, laugh out loud funny. There was a story line along with the humor. The second book was also good, not quite as good as the first but still very enjoyable. I couldn't wait for this book and down loaded it the day it was released. This book, on the other hand, seemed like it was trying too hard to be funny. The humor for most of it was extremely juvenile or sexual. I almost didn't want to finish the book and found it hard to get through until the middle of the book, after that it seemed to pick up a little. Don't get me wrong, there were a few parts where I did laugh out loud (the race). But for the most part, it just seemed like the author felt the need for extreme humor (or an attempt at it) on every page or so. I enjoyed the first book much more where the story line was enjoyable and then there was humor thrown in. This book was an attempt at humor (mostly sexual) with a story line thrown in.

Troubles and Treats: A Silly Journey Through a Sticky Situation (Volume 3)

Raise your hand if you have read Seduction and Snacks. Now raise your other hand if you have read Futures and Frosting. Now... if you are sitting there with both hands raised; First, put them down you look like a fool. And second, you MUST read Troubles and Treats. This was a totally fitting and EPIC end to a wonderful series.

This book has everything that the first two books has and more. Spending time with Drew and Jenny was so much fun. They are both ridiculous and I love them immensely! You get to follow along with them as they face the same troubles that all new parents face.

I found myself relating to Jenny on a personal level. I have been there done that and NEVER want to return. My kids are 16 and 12, so long gone are the days of diapers and sleepless nights. Now it is all about trying to argue with a twelve years old and still sound like an adult. I also came to realize that it is quite possible that I am married to Drew. He has changed his name but I am pretty convinced that he and my husband are one and the same.

It should go without saying that I laughed uncontrollably while reading Troubles and Treats. I got dirty looks from aforementioned husband for waking him up at an ungodly hour because I could not contain my laughter. I redeemed myself by reading him a few passages. He did not cackle like a hyena the way I was but he definitely laughed. ^,^

"I have to say that the ending of this book was perfect. The way Tara chose to write it is amazing. I had real tears in my eyes as it came to an end. And I will forever hope that one day we will see more from this group of friends."

I loved the first 2 books and couldnt wait for the third. Ordered it straight away when it was released. I found myself bored and wondered if l should continue to read it. I did end up finishing the book but my conclusion is that it was trying to hard to be funny. Not sure about the story line also. I really wanted to love this book but it doesnt live up to the first 2 books.

Ok, I'm going to go ahead and assume that anyone looking here has already read the first 2 books in this series. If not and if you like a little raunch and a hell of a lot of funny with your romance you need to.

While Jenny and Drew's book wasn't quite at the same level with the others in the series it was still laugh out loud funny. Fans of Chocolate Lovers do not want to miss out on this one.

If you loved Drew and Jenny before, you are really going to love them now! Told in both Drew and Jenny's pov, Troubles and Treats is absolutely hilarious! Drew is still the t-shirt king, and Jenny still can't speak for crap, but they go together like peanut butter and jelly, like chocolate and strawberries, like rabbits and batteries. The story is set three years post Drew and Jenny's nuptials, and two spawn, Veronica (sexy name) and Billy (named after Billy Madison), now make their little family complete. But, there is trouble in paradise. Yes, "Whitney Houston, we have a problem." Jenny's libido is suffering and Drew tries his best to re-erect the magic.

What makes this book so special aside from being Drew and Jenny's story, is the reality of it. Anyone who has ever been married with children knows the lack of sleep and the lack of luster that accompanies it in the boudoir.

"When was the last time you guys had sex?" Claire asks.
"Um, what day is it today?"
"It's Saturday," Claire answers.
"Last year."

Once again, Tara has given us little tidbits on how to make life just a little bit better.
All of our favorite characters, Claire and Carter along with Jim and Liz, are there and funny as ever, all with children of their own. From the gut-busting banter between Gavin and Drew to the girlish man talk between Jim, Drew, and Carter; Tara has given the perfect ending to the series. Do Drew and Jenny ever get back their groove? Yes, they do, and they aren't shy about sharing their secrets to a happy marriage. They finally taste the rainbow, and the sexcapades they once knew return in full out hilarity and then some. Well done, Tara Sivec. I will miss this motley crew, and I only wish I could read of Gavin in his early adult years. *hint*
