5.0 out of 5 stars A good book with emphasis on detailed troubleshooting, January 19, 2001

This review is from: Troubleshooting, Maintaining, and Repairing Macs (Hardcover)
I do Technical Support and also assist other departments with my company (ITS, QA, Customer Service, Engineering, etc.) and I assist these departments with troubleshooting both software and hardware. This has been a valuable resource for me in dealing with finding solutions along with very detailed explanations for issues that may occur when troubleshooting Macs. This book goes into further detail of these issues than any other book I have seen so far. I like the chapters that deal with IDE devices the most. I've been able to use this for many instances, and have not been let down. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Mac Book Ever!, May 2, 2001

If you only buy one book in your lifetime for your Mac, make this book your choice. It is hands down the best book ever written to explain in clear detail, the workings of all G3 and G4 Macs. It is well written, well organized and contains a multitude of pictures of the particular hardware and components being described. This is a book you will keep for years as a handy reference. It is a bit pricey, but the money will be well spent.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as helpful as I'd hoped, September 3, 2001

I've been looking to update my outdated Mac troubleshooting books and thought this would be a good replacement. I was sadly disappointed. In the past few weeks several issues have come up none of which were covered in this book. In my opinion, if you're looking for a how-to-fix-it book, this is NOT it.
