Very good book but doesn't cover the latest u'processor TV's,
By A Customer
This review is from: Troubleshooting and Repairing Color Television Systems (Tab Electronics Technician Library) (Hardcover)
Does a good job of covering service procedures
and equipment and includes some theory. However,
it does not cover more current TV's that have
microprocessor control and one big chip that provides all the signals, e.g horizontal, vertical
etc.

This review is from: Troubleshooting and Repairing Color Television Systems (Tab Electronics Technician Library) (Hardcover)
I suspect Mr. Goodman is a technical writer rather than an engineer. He is writing to a technician with a shop full of expensive instruments and a certain amount of experience using that equipment. If that were me, I think I would have found the book more useful. His lack of theoretical understanding and explanation did not convey to me the kind of basic reasoning I wanted to help solve real problems, without that shop full of expensive instruments.
