5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING AMAZING
I love electrocute. they're bouncy and silly and fun.

I dance around my room to electrocute about ten times a day.

Yes it's true.

Dionne's description below is sometimes very very accurate. However there are a few catchy tunes and they tend to find themselves at the end of the album, almost as if they laid them down in order and started to figure out their problems. The songs toward the end stop relying too heavily on guitars, get a little poppier, and definitely find some decent hooks. Kliener...

5.0 out of 5 stars crazy and cool, October 13, 2005

i first discovered this band on the Spongebob Squarepants Movie soundtrack with their song "Bikini Bottom". I love the album. They sound like the B-52s and the Cramps with electronic beats. Definitly a good saturday night record. It's everything but boring.

Kliener Dicker Junge is a great little pop song and I have just discovered that it somehow become my top played song on my I-pod. So I would say 1 for the first half and a 3.5 for the second half of the album. Too bad you can't buy half of it:)

1.0 out of 5 stars Agonizing!!, October 12, 2005
This review is from: Troublesome Bubblegum (Audio CD)
The Good

"Tales of Ordinary Sadness" is commanded by a fuzzy bend-heavy lick. From there the electronic percussion takes over. The up-tempo guitar heavy "Shag Ball" and drum effects heavy "Pop It" employ lots of sexual innuendo to try and draw you in. Surf guitar licks run rampant on "Jet Set Boy". "Car Bomb Derby" is a wild ride with its frantic pacing.

The Bad

In my opinion there are two major problems here. One problem is that despite the guitar laden tracks, the songs are more dance oriented due to programming effects (similar to your old Atari 2600). The second is that that the vocals are very whiney and annoying at times. Picture Kelly Osbourne meets Courtney Love. I still don't know if this duo is serious or trying to be comical.

The Verdict

Although pleasing to the eye, Electrocute is agonizing to the ears. There are a few decent songs, but after about half the album, you'll be ready to throw it out the window.
