I used to live in San Francisco, where I could read Troubletown every week. Now I'm stuck in the middle of no where, so I have to wait for these great compilations when they come out. I've got all of them, and this new one really rocks thye housed! I thought from the title that it might be only focused on the Iraq War and major Bush calamities (which would be fine by me) but, as usual, Dangle aims his unique perspective at the whole world of subject matter. And, as usual, he comes up with some amazing gems.I always find a really different perspective when I read Troubletown, Dangle sees the world through an amazing filter. I think he must be one of the most studious, well-read of political cartoonists working today. This book is a great deal-chock full of a great years output- and it's samll and easy to carry! The perfect birthday present!

This book is the real deal. It had me laughing out loud and crying out loud at the same time.Dangle deftly conveys with real courage the mess that we're in currently and Dan Savage's forward for the book conveys why we all need a little "Dangle". In particular the renderings in regard to Iraq are both evocative and disturbingly compelling in light of all that has now been revealed in terms of Bush's war.

Mr. Dangle covers (and skewers) the tragedy disguised as the current political situation in his latest collection of comics. His sharp wit (and sharper pen nibs) will leave you, as the kids say, Rolling On The Floor. I love the tiny, tiny drawings in the background - this is a book you'll read again and again. I especially loved the bit about the gay republican speech writers penning a diatribe on "family values" for "President" Bush.Delicious. -michael wertz
