PreSchool-Grade 2–This creative fish chant is sure to please
Finding Nemo fans. Sayre uses an amazing array of freshwater fish names to form her rhythmic text: "Paddlefish,/Flagfish,/they're all real./Mosquitofish, Sunfish,/Eel, Eel, Eel!" Digitally created on a Macintosh, the brightly colored cartoon caricatures of the creatures are humorous. A "Bigmouth Buffalo" sports a western hat and sheriff's star, while a "California Roach" holds a surfboard under its fin and wears a cool-dude expression on its face. A four-page glossary includes a short, factual paragraph on each species. This humorous romp through a lake will delight children who are fascinated with the underwater world.
