I'd like to start off saying that I purchased this bar from CSN but I figured I would post a review here since there aren't any yet. I first thought this cable attachment was a little gimmicky but once I tried it out I was sold. It's great because it allows you change your wrist angle just the right amount to relieve stress on the tendons and joints. I like it way better than the rope attachment. I use it for press downs, overhead extensions and it's even great for close grip hammer curls, sort of the way some bodybuilders do with dumbbells to isolate the brachialis, but without having to worry about the dumbbells hitting each other at the top of the movement. This is now my favorite cable attachment and I have many. I know this attachment is a little expensive, but in my opinion it's well worth it. I'm going to buy the Supra olympic curl bar next as I'm guessing it feels way better than the E-Z curl bar that I use now. I hope this review helps buyers that are skeptical the way I was.

I would assign 10 stars if I could. This is a brilliantly ergonomic design, and the only tricep press attachment that I have ever found which allows for the full range of motion--including the final inches of extension. The beauty of this device is that it is the only tricep bar that allows the wrists to remain at the neutral angle throughout the full arc of the extension. Prior to finding this product, I went through 14 (yes, fourteen!) different tricep attachments--tricep ropes, tricep straps, and numerous bars of different shapes and configurations. Nothing worked as well as this, and they all caused joint pain when using the heavier weights. I've been working out now for two weeks with this product, and even when pressing 80 pounds I've had no problems, and gotten pumped like never before. I REALLY want to know the name of the person who invented this, so I could send them a fan letter. Based on this experience, I just ordered the bicep curl version of this (the Troy Barbell VTX SBCB-23 SupraBar Cable Curl Bar), and am looking forward to experiencing it too!

This attachment shines when doing triceps cable pressdowns/extensions much in the same manner as a rope attachement. The Supra has a few advantages over a rope attachment. One is that the wrists can be locked in a neutral position and not be subjected to forces that try to bend them. Overall the feeling is better with the Supra. Also, the Supra's knurled handles are not slippery like a rope is. Recently, I also found out the the Supra can be attached to a low pulley for performing hammer curls. This version of hammer curls has an outstanding feel to it.

There are a couple of minor drawbacks to the Supra. The knurling will chew up rings (jewelry). The hole (aperture) for attaching it to a snap link on a cable could be slightly larger to make mounting a little easier.

For myself, the Supra is superior to rope attachments.

I love this piece of equipment. In truth, I have other handles that mimic the movement to a degree but this piece uniquely allows for a very natural transition in hand position from the start of a Tricep press down movement to the finish. At the top of the movement the palms face each other, as in the Hammer position, but this position smoothly transitions to a palms at a 45 degree angle away from each other in the finished position. This would seem a small difference, of 45 degrees, but it is meaningful.
