5.0 out of 5 stars Troy ME7880 2 Ton Hydraulic Strut Spring Compressor
Worked great just as I had hoped. It was easier than others that I have used. I broke the release peddle right off the bat. I'm looking into welding that back together or makeing a new one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great price, works BUT
Bought this since shops around here can be iffy about compressing springs and struts for you.

The goood: (Relatively) inexpensive. Solid build. Very easy to use. Seemed powerful enough. Felt much safer with this than with the small 2-rod affairs you get at Advance, Autozone etc. Great for assembling/disassembling struts assemblies.

The bad: The feet don't seem terribly stable. I would recommend bolting it into the floor, as the manufacturer suggests.

More importantly, the claws that hold the spring are quite small. I could NOT fit a number of struts - Bilstein HD for a BMW, KYB for a Nissan Pathfinder and others - into them. That made it basically unusable. You can try putting the strut into the claws at an angle but you are stressing the mechanism and risking the whole thing going airborne as you compress.

So mine has basically turned into a paperweight. A pity.

A Great product at a Great price.
We got ours at about $125.00 + $75.00 shipping.
Always follow safety instructions since you are dealing with large potential energy of springs.
