Purchased this pump and it was a good value plus qualified for free shipping through Amazon making the value even better. Assembling was easy although the directions could have been a little more specific in some instances. We did have to call customer support (phone number was obtained online for Troy products) and the support was quick and helpful. The only problem encountered was initially the pump seemed to draw air but with additional adjustments, it worked great. The fuel transfer was quick and we would recommend the pump.

Be Prepared to Fix Problems Yourself,

Troy TFTP20 20 GPM 12V Heavy Duty Fuel Diesel Gas Transfer Pump - The Fuel Nozzle leaks. Several calls to Max Tools, finally received an email from customer service. Apparently a common problem. Sent me an email with how to fix it. Also the 90 degree elbow also poorly made, a real job to get it to seal. This product is made in China & has some quality issues. Buy it if you don't mind fixing its shortcomings. I wouldn't use Teflon tape with diesel fuel, better to use appropriate threading compound.
I have listed their response below: If it is from the brass fitting, thats an easy fix. First, you have to knock the pin out, the pin thats around the brass nozzle. Remove the hose, and wrap and re-enforce with teflon tape. the whole fitting and the hose. Attach the hose back and put the pin back in, tighten and should be good.

Nothing but trouble from the day it was delivered. At first it wouldn't draw fuel, so I took it apart. The back flow valve was defective so it wouldn't prime. I picked up a rebuild kit and replaced the rubber valve. It worked for a while, but 6 months and it won't turn on. I suspect the switch has gone bad.
I will purchase my next pump from Tractor Supply. That way if it goes bad I can drive to the store to return it. I can not recommend this unit.
