5.0 out of 5 stars Some advice... October 11, 2010
In reality, each bottle is worth two drinks or more. Here's how to get the most bang for your buck. After you spend $16.00 to $25.00 for the four-pack, buy a 1-liter of either (or both) Sprite and/or club soda for a couple of dollars.

If you have a sweet tooth, do a 50/50 mix of Tru Blood with Sprite. If you prefer to dull the sweetness, then do the same but with club soda. Be creative and mix to your taste.

Remember, this beverage has a slight fizz to it (carbonation), so you'll need a fizzy mixer to help it maintain its integrity.

You might also want to keep you first empty bottle so that you can poor half of the subsequent bottle into the first bottle and store your mixes.

Also tastes great with freshly-oxygenated arterial blood at 98.6F. (Just kidding.)

Hope this helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yum! March 7, 2010
This soda is really delicious. I was able to try a sample of it at a booth at a local conference in Seattle and was instantly in love with it. It's a very unique (and yummy) flavored soda because of the blood orange, and because of that it only makes spending the money for it worth it. It's sweet, but not overly so. The bottles are quite hefty which adds to the authenticity, they really do look like the ones on the show. Whether you are buying the soda for decoration (we have one of them on a shelf) or for drinking, it's worth the price for this unique soda. I highly recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars A tad TOO sweet August 20, 2010
While I do think that the bottle design rocks, and it stays true to the bottles we see in True Blood, the drink itself, well... it's not BAD, but it's not great either.

I didn't want to spend the $25 USD for the four pack I saw at Hot Topic, especially if I didn't know if I was going to like it, so thankfully Saturday Matinee sells the single bottles for about $5 USD a pop.

Tru Blood actually tastes better warm, or at least room temp, which I found out after popping my bottle in the fridge. And it's not something you can chug. It is very much something I could only sip a bit at a time. It tastes more like a REALLY sweet fruit punch, but I couldn't find any hint of blood orange in it.

If you're not a fan of overly really sweet drinks, I wouldn't recommend it, but if you DO like really sweet stuff, then go for it.

I will say, though, that every fan of the True Blood series should try the drink at least ONCE. Build your own opinion from tasting it yourself. If you're not willing to drop $25 for a 4 pack of it, you can sometimes find the single bottles at Borders, the larger Barnes and Nobles stores, or Saturday Matinee.

I would also recommend that people who are diabetic, STAY AWAY. Sugar cane is the second ingredient in Tru Blood.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST OWN!!!! May 28, 2010
Okay, maybe not a "must own" unless you are a die hard fan of the series but I am so I just had to have this!!! I first saw them at Hot Topic and was a little sad that they were $25 for only four bottles, but in all honesty these are pretty big bottles and very, idk how to describe it properly, "Solid"?? Very durable product. I mostly wanted them just for fanboy sake, I didn't really care what it tasted like. But I did open one bottle, gave two away to my friends who are big fans. And I kept one unopened bottle for display. The flavor of the drink to me is a little odd, I am very surprised that they picked an Orange flavor instead of Strawberry or Cherry since the drink is supposed to be red like blood. All in all its decent, I couldn't drink it as if it was soda or anything but I will take an occasional sip from time to time. But like I said I mostly wanted these just to have since Im such a huge fan of the show so anyone else who is the same should definitely pick these up!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Ugh! March 11, 2011
By Moz65
Weird, everyone seem to like it. I just had to come here to read what people thought of Tru Blood, after pouring the remaining half of my bottle down the drain... I personally couldn't finish it, found it almost undrinkable in fact. Sickly sweet with barely a trace of "Blood Orange", it tastes completely artificial and I can't honestly recommend it, even to fans. Happily I picked mine up from a bargain bin! I'll stick to watching the show in future...

I'm a huge True Blood fan, not really knowing what to expect from this. Package and bottles are cool but its a WAY over priced Tang tasting drink. Guess I was hoping for at least a blood orange flavor. But I guess we are just paying for the cool bottles.
