These are awesome cargo pants. On each side are cargo (leg) pockets big enough to carry a 7" tablet (with room to spare). But the pockets lay flat when not in use. Multiple bits of velcro keep the pocket flaps closed, just in case you go on a rollercoaster. Inside are sub-pockets.

Hanging off the outside of the cargo pockets there are smaller pockets (with their own velcro flap). Theses can fit a small cell phone. The back pockets also are secured with velcro. At the waist, there are narrow pockets on either side for knives, plus spacious regular front pockets. There is even a pocket inside the knee (to hold knee pads) that I never noticed in 2 years of wearing them.

There is a bit of well-designed elastic around the waist (just an inch on either side) which keeps them snug without a belt. Above the zipper is a single snap. They come pre-washed, which is nice.

Update: I bought two pairs. After 1 year, the fly snap ripped out of the fabric on one of them, making them un-wearable (probably fixable if I weren't lazy.). I've been using the other pair for 2 years now (trying to go easy on the fly snap). That pair held up well (especially the velcro), except for some fraying at the ankles (mostly because they are too long for me and sometimes scrape the ground). But I liked them well enough to buy more.

If you're looking for skinny-jeans-style cargo pants, try Levi's Men's New Conventional Cargo:
- large sewn-on leg pockets (which stick out, but presumably crush stuff less)
- leg pockets secured by a single snap (slightly dangerous when carrying small stuff and sitting down. Luckily my cell phone is huge and hasn't fallen out.

I have a 38" waist and was looking for some work pants that would be loose cut and very comfortable to wear. I first order 2 pair of "carpenter's pants" from Carhartt and Dickies, as these were advertised to have such a fit. But neither were very comfortable, and I returned them. I then stumbled onto these pants from Tru-Spec. The minute I put them on, I knew they were for me! The cut is perfect, and then you have the secret elastic inside the waistband which makes bending down effortless. I went with the heavier version instead of the lighter version w/ nylon ripstop. I figure I'll be wearing shorts if it is that warm. But still, these are not made with a heavy fabric. Not too light, not too heavy, -just perfect. As I said, if you wanted anything lighter, you'd move to shorts, and if it got colder, you'd add long-johns. The front pockets are nice and deep, just the way I like them, and there's a bunch of other pockets for whatever you need to carry.

One of the reasons I purchased these was because of the pocket space, but I had no idea. Don't think you will be running out of those any time soon, and they manage to integrate all of them while not seeming bulky or over sized. One of the best features is the pocket knife slot on both sides just behind the the main pockets. I busted the clip on a very nice knife before from it getting snagged in normal pockets but with the way this is positioned I won't have to worry about that anymore, not to mention having much better access to the main pockets with it out of there. Shipped very fast, arrived much earlier than the estimate range.

These pants must be the nicest pair of pants I've ever owned.

Amazon.com might say I didn't order these through here; that's because I privately contacted the seller and switched to these over the 63/35 version.

Anyway, these pants are very solidly constructed. They're actually a bit heavy, and thick too. I started sweating as soon as I put them on, heh. This is not a bad thing though, as this means they will make excellent pants for the cold weather here in New England. No need to buy any Under Armour leggings to go under these ;)

They also have tons of pockets. The knife pockets are a nice touch, but I do wish they were a little deeper and thicker. If I needed to get my pocket knife out in a hurry for self-defense I wouldn't really be able to. The two large pockets on the front for AR-15 mags should please shooters and military personnel. I don't own an Ar-15 (yet), so I just use the dividers to store various things like my cell phone.

All in all I couldn't be happier. I'm not new to tactical pants, as I bought two different pairs of 5.11 Tactical Pants in the past. These put those pants to absolute shame.

I'm not really up-to-date on what the military is allowed to wear, but if you're in the military or police I imagine these are the best tactical pants you're going to find.

I am writing for someone else who wears these pants - the only kind they will wear. They are great quality and last a long time. I hope they don't change anything.

these pants are great, although i do prefer their light weight version a little more for the summer. plenty of pockets, the knife pocket is awesome, even fits my s.o.g. aegis(which is pretty large 3.5" knife. really strong double knee, flexible waistline, the pants move really well, which is great because im a land surveyor and do a lot of hiking through the harsh summer desert over here in eastern Washington a lot, i also do a lot of construction staking which involves tons of kneeling and bending over. i will be purchasing more of these and ive already got two pairs.
