Comment: This book has already been well loved by someone else and that love shows. It MIGHT have highlighting, underlining, be missing a dust jacket, or SLIGHT water damage, but over-all itâ?TMs still a good book at a great price! (if it is supposed to contain a CD or access code, that may be missing)

Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

In a suburban community a young boy and girl set up a lemonade stand in their front yard. When a big, red rig gets stuck under a train trestle nearby, business improves. A variety of child-pleasing vehicles line up behind the stuck truck, and all sorts of people (a clown, Boy Scouts, an Elvis impersonator, etc.) emerge and purchase lemonade from the two entrepreneurs. Brightly colored, naive-style pen-and-ink illustrations with some digital elements perfectly complement the simple, rhyming text (the tone having been set by the title). When two tow trucks fail to release the truck, the little girl suggests a wonderful solution. Children will appreciate the fact that a child is the hero here, and they’ll  probably figure out the solution for themselves, long before it’s given in the story. Just right for children who have graduated from Byron Barton’s books. Preschool. --Randall Enos

Review

Kids who are crazy about vehicles will love this one: it's easy to read and a whole lot of fun. Good luck, big truck! --The Horn Book

A delirious age-appropriate romp. --Kirkus Reviews

This is an excellent choice to share with youngsters, who can observe the action and name all the objects and the activities. --School Library Journal --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

This is one book that my husband and I don't mind reading over and over and over, which is good because this is my 21-month son's favorite book. My son likes the rhythm of the words; most are one syllable and easy for him to repeat. We love talking about the illustrations and what the different people are doing from page to page. We're ordering our own copy after borrowing it multiple times from the library.

We received this book for my son's third birthday. The vivid and detailed pictures and fun language makes him laugh every time. Six months later he is still asking for me to read it to him many times a week. A truck gets stuck, lemonade is served, the media is called in to cover the chaos, there's an Elvis impersonator thrown in for good measure -- what's not to like?

Funny reading the other reviews that this is the same thing that happened to us - we borrowed it from the library and are now buying it because our 2-year-old son loves it so much. He demands it before bedtime each evening: "truck stuck!". Great rhythm to the text, and after one week, our son can now read about half of it on his own! This is just a really fun book.

This is my 2-year-old son's favorite book. We had it from the library for several months in a row and finally had to buy a copy. He loves naming all the different vehicles that are stuck behind the truck, and he now yells "viaduct" when we go by a bridge. The illustrations and great rhymes are engaging. We gave a copy to my cousin's new baby, and his older sisters love it.
