As someone who is working on a career in the trucking industry, I purchased this book hoping it was going to provide some significant information that would benefit my career and company. It did not. I found this book to be very basic and lacking substance, especially for the serious business person. If you need someone to tell you what clothes to pack and when to take a shower then this is the book for you. If you are looking for something that is going to help your business operate better and more profitably then save your money and keep looking.

this book had no useful business information. In my opinion it should not be listed in the business section. Buy only if you want clothes packing tips, reviews on books, restaurants, websites, etc.

This contains a lot of good information that you don't learn in driving school or company training programs.

Such as:
- background into the different types of hauling i.e van vs. reefer, moving van, car carrier, etc.
- OTR, dedicated, local routes
- company driver vs. owner/operator
- truck driving "culture"
- truck maintenance
- every driver's friend - your dispatcher
- what you need in your truck i.e. clothing, tools, food

This is not a book for the experienced driver. Although the information contained in this book can provide some useful reminders.

This book is good because it is easy to understand. I wish I had it when I started trucking a year ago. The advice on how to handle paper work, when to fuel, the best time to get a shower at a truckstop, and handling dispatchers and shippers were right on. Buy this book if you just got out of trucking school or like most drivers, your are tired of the industry. There's plenty of advice on how to make life on the road tolerable and profitable.

Trucking Simplified is absolutely terrific. Every page overflows with sound, practical advice, and actual usable information and sources. This book is written in a very informative,easy-to-understand, and amusing style that is sure to inspire you to finally purchase that truck and start fulfilling your financial dream. Loads of info on how to save time in order to make more money and pursue a personal life as well. As part of a husband/wife owner operator team, I had to go through a lot of trial and error to fine tune our operation. This book would have saved me time, money, and headaches! Read this book, implement the advice given, and enjoy your hard earned success.
