My Son LOVES It!!!!,
By
This review is from: Trucks (Bright Baby) (Board book)
My 16 month-old son LOVES this book! I will not hear him playing with his toys in his playroom, go peek in on him, and there he will be, sitting transfixed in front of this book, flipping through the pages and mumbling, "vroom! vroom!" to himself. If your child loves trucks or tractors, get them this book! My husband takes our son for rides on our tractor & lawnmower all the time, and this is his (my son's, not my hubby's) all-time favorite book!

Even my daughter loves this book,
This review is from: Trucks (Bright Baby) (Board book)
We've had this book (along with a couple other Bright Baby books "Aminals" and "First Words") for quite a few months and my 20 month daughter stills loves them all. She enjoys paging through the book to find what we've asked for. These books are a good size for small hands, making them easy to carry and turn the pages. The pictures are real, clear, and colorful on primary color backgrounds. Some of the larger vehicles take up two pages. The only other thing on the page is the name of the object (black letters in a kid-like font).
I get a kick out of asking her to find the "car transporter" or "airport fire engine". She squeals every time we're in the car when she sees an actual "car transporter".

MY SON'S FAVORITE NEW BOOK,
By Mom of 21 month old boy (Albany, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trucks (Bright Baby) (Board book)
Great truck book! Tractors, excavators, milk truck, fire truck, ambulance, loader, big rig, bulldozer, etc. All in all about 15 different kinds of trucks. The pictures are very appealing, bright backgrounds with the real pictures of the trucks filling the entire page. No clutter in the pictures, just the truck and the background and the wording on the type of truck it is. Great for kids who love trucks. My son takes it everywhere with him. Now I'm looking to buy more books from this series because of the beautiful pictures.

Comparing 2 Truck sticker books,

This review is from: Sticker Activity Trucks (First Learning) (First Learning Sticker Activity) (Paperback)
I am comparing 2 similar books: one is Truck (Ultimate Sticker Books)by DK Publishing, 2006, and the second is Sticker Activity Trucks (First Learning) by Roger Priddy, 2003. While both are Truck sticker books for children, I give the first a rating of 1 star, and the second of 5 stars.
My toddler was given the Priddy one first, and the experience was fantastic. After he finished to put all stickers in place, I bought the DK one for him. The experience was terrible and frustrating, so I bought a second copy of the Priddy one. They are both similar in that they are sticker books for children, they have a comparable number of pages, same format, and roughly the same printing quality. Price is close in range, Priddy is close to $6 dollars and the DK is $7 (15% more). Contents are dramatically different though. Priddy is best in all accounts of design and pedagogy. Pages are color coded, trucks have identifiable names such as "mail truck" or "tractor"both under the sticker and on the page where it supposedly goes. DK on the other hand has a very poor 1-ink green printing on the pages where the sticker go, there are no matching names on the sticker page, and placing page, but instead a long description of some obscure fact. DK has no identifiable names either, but rather opts for a series of pickups with big wheels that where part of such or such race. In quantity Priddy also wins, with 100 detailed images, versus 60 for DK, but the most important of all differences is in that while Priddy includes a shadow image of the truck, on the page where the kid is supposed to place it, DK places a shadow of the sticker, not the truck, which has a lot less detail and resembles a cloud more than a truck. There were many trucks for which we could not even find a placeholder, and I am much older than 3 or 4, for which this books are recommended. I am considering using these two books as an example of how to solve a book-design problem correctly, or get it all wrong in a class if the subject is appropriate. My wife who is more accommodating suggested they could do cards with the stickers of the DK book that were not too ugly, but she could not find 24. The buying recommendation is obvious in this case: buy a Priddy instead of a DK, unless you have a passion for retrofitted pick-ups. As for us, we are extending our skepticism to all books published by DK and looking instead to what Priddy has in store.

my DAUGHTER loves things that go - trucks, buses, cars...we both have learned lots from this book -- there are so many types of trucks and things that go that I did not the names to and many common things we see every day like the mail truck or fire truck.

Great pics!! The only con--if any, I think is that maybe the words could be a little more general. (i.e just "firetruck" or "tractor" instead of the formal full name.) But overall this book is awesome! Because of this book, one of my son's first words was "mail truck!" :) We love it!

We got this book for our truck-obsessed son when he was 18-months old and 6 months later it's still one of his favorites. The nice colorful pictures will surely grab the attention of any young truck lover

Unlike most books with moving parts, Slide and Find Trucks is extremely durable,

This review is from: Slide and Find - Trucks (Board book)
Slide and Find Trucks is an easy reader board book for very young children with an interactive twist - every other page has four sliding windows over the pictures of trucks that cover images with related words or concepts. For example, the sliding windows on the first page cover (or uncover) a red garbage truck with the word "red", a blue giant excavator with the word "blue", a green delivery truck with the word "green", and a yellow backhoe loader with the word "yellow". Unlike most books with moving parts, Slide and Find Trucks is extremely durable, and sure to provide educational fun for the littlest inquisitive minds.

Great for my little truck lover,
By Tarapinn (Stow, ma) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trucks (Bright Baby) (Board book)
My 18 month old is talking up a storm and LOVES trucks. He insists on reading this book over and over. The pictures are clear and he can now name EVERY truck in the book although he has some trouble with "car transporter". The word is a bit long for a kiddie book but he's certainly up for the challenge. I would recommend this book for any truck lover or word enthusiast. It is not a story book, just pictures and words. Some other vehicles include "mini loader", "digger", "ambulance", "fuel truck", "cement mixer", "fire engine".
