5.0 out of 5 stars You must see them live!
I saw/heard/experienced these girls perform last night at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, Oregon. They opened for Northern States and put NS to shame. These girls are gimmicky: Marissa plays the clueless pixie (she's cute as the proverbial button), and Kristin is so rock-n-roll that she channels Keith Richards. 3.0 out of 5 stars Cool Band Of Girls Unafraid Of Their Own Sexuality
I bought this album on Amazon after listening to a track on Adam Curry's "Daily Source Code" www.dailysourcecode.com I thought it was so cool that I bought the whole album. Don't regret it a bit. It's got a lot of cool tracks on it and lyrics that make you laugh out loud at times.

These girls are gimmicky: Marissa plays the clueless pixie (she's cute as the proverbial button), and Kristin is so rock-n-roll that she channels Keith Richards. They are energetic, noisy, eclectic, hypnotic, brash, and brilliant. For the entire show, you can't take eyes off them. If they come to your town, cancel any other commitments, and experience these girls and their music. The c.d. cannot do them justice.

5.0 out of 5 stars A CD you can listen to over and over and over and over and over..., April 16, 2007

The greatest thing about this CD is that it just makes me happy every single time I listen to it, which has been a lot. I remember the first time I put it in my car CD player and I would smile and laugh in wondrous shock and surprise through every song as I drove through the streets of Los Angeles. I really don't have another CD in my fairly sizable record collection, never mind from a new band, that brings me more pure joy than The Trucks.

I don't like most of what I hear on the radio these days, so it's nice to hear music like this being released by little known bands that you actually enjoy rather than the crap the music industry pushes down our throats via the corporate controlled (formerly public) airwaves.

3 stars because you have to really be into this kind of music to enjoy it, but I do consider it fun and by purchasing this CD you're allowing these girls to go on and do more of what they do best (I'm assuming) make music.

I heard about this band through NPR. The track that grabbed me initially was definitely Old Bikes. I loved that they "subtitled" the french lyrics in one verse. It had a great rhythmic drive with good instrumental choices to punch it up. Anyway, the rest of the tracks I thought were fine, but not great. I let it collect dust for over a year because of this. Then I decided to start listening to it again. The rest of the tracks were brought to life with repeat listens, and now this is an album that has to be in my car. These ladies did an awesome job. I hope they come out with more albums.

WOW! I have never heard of The Trucks until I heard their interview on National Public Radio. (I think it was with Terry Gross) In any case, I instantly became a fan and bought the album.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Trucks - They just split up....., November 23, 2008
This band had soooo much potential, idk if it was bad managing or what, but they no longer are together. I find myself listing to the CD constantly, I will miss these chicks.
