I purchased the wine thermometer as a Christmas gift for a wine expert friend of mine. Serving temperature is an important factor in the enjoyment of wine and this takes the guesswork out of it. My friend employs this every night and has expressed to me the usefulness of it. And, of course, Amazon had the best price and delivered it just in time for the holiday.

The contrast on the screen makes it difficult to read the temperature values if you haven't given up while waiting for it to settle on the final value (the accuracy of which I doubt anyway). Save your money and take a pass on this one.

No way to make it work, felt like an idiot troubleshooting this fairly basic gadget on the internet. Was a present for a friend in Europe, no possibility / sense to return. Not worth the box it is packed in. Tough luck.
