I received this as a Mother's Day gift, and found that it works very well with cantaloupe and mangoes as well! Functions as a slicer and scoop, and the stainless steel is always nicer than plastic! Worth adding to kitchen gadgets.

I just purchased this because we love guacamole. My fiance was skeptical but after using the blade side to open the avocado stated so far, so good. The pit removal was so-so, but the best feature by far is the scoop. It extracted the flesh from the skin in one easy motion without damaging the skin or leaving flesh behind. Sold!

Slicer: good; pitter; so-so; scoop; excellent. It's handy and I made (less) of a mess using this product. Note: the Fed-ex shipping on this item is more expensive than the product itself.

If you haven't tried this great little gadget, you might think it's rather silly to get something exclusively for use with avocados. Of course you can slice an avocado open and remove the pit with a knife, and dice and remove the flesh with a spoon, but with this you just need the single tool ... and it works like a charm. They make a great little hostess gift, too.

I love kitchen gadgets and I am happy that I added this one to my collection. It was a must have for my new love of avocados and guacamole. Handy tool!
