An Outstanding Romantic Suspense,
By
This review is from: True Bliss (Paperback)
Time period: Present day.Sensuality rating: Hot Wow! What a gripping, suspenseful-and hot, story. Stella Cameron has delivered again in TRUE BLISS and proves why she is one of the best in Romantic Suspense today. The story revolves around Bliss Winters and Sebastian Plato, who were teen-age Romeo and Juliet in their hometown. Instead of dying like Shakespeare's characters, these two went on with their lives but never forgot each other, or the love they had for one another. He is now back in Bliss's life and wants to take up where they left off but she is resistant. She does not want to get hurt again, as the past is painful for her, and now could prove deadly. Someone is apparently trying to get rid of her or get her out of Sebastian's life. It is up to them to keep her out of harm's way and to continue to build on a relationship that is electrical hot and sensual and meant to be forever. The two main characters are very compelling and make you want to root for their happiness and future together. The supporting cast is varied and some of them seem strange in their actions and kinky. As you read the story, you wonder...Are they allies or enemies? Is one of them a killer? Find out as the story reaches an explosive and remarkable ending that left me in awe of Ms. Cameron's ability to interweave each story line in the book to show how they interconnect in the end.

True Bliss -- An Intense Romance,
This review is from: True Bliss (Paperback)
"True Bliss" is a modern romance with scalding love scenes and a delicious hero. I fell in love with Sebastian after the first page, as well as the author's straightforward writing style. There are so few well-written modern romances, but I'd have to say that Stella Cameron does them well. The only parts I disliked was the plot and secondary characters, some of which I found were unnecessary and very contrived. The romance part, on the other hand, was absoloutly stunning and flawless. With exception of the plot (which another viewer has said as "disjointed," and I agree), it's a very worthwhile read. Some of the scenes in there will have you fanning yourself for air, and I found that skipping over the irrelevant parts don't really matter in the end anway. I'd definetly recommend this book to romance readers. Downside: A bad plot. Upside: An outstanding romance. If you don't mind skipping parts, I can promise you'll enjoy most of the book.

Best book I've read in a long time!,

Not only did this book keep me entertained the whole way through, but I read it over and over, sometimes using it for romance advice. The characters and the interactions between them are tantalizing and kept me wanting more. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a summer beach read or bathtub companion!

Pretty Good, a fun read!,

I've just recently discovered Stella Cameron and I intend to read some of her historical romances as well. I found this book entertaining with it's main characters having once lost their love, and then regaining it again after so many years. Some of the characters living around Bliss sounded really weird but those kinds of people really do exist. I did enjoy the mystery that was weaved into the story, it added greatly to the story. One of the characters, Polly Crow has her story continued in "Guilty Pleasures" which in turn also came from "Sheer Pleasures". I liked those two better, but I did enjoy this one . If you enjoy Stella Cameron, I recommend you read this one too.

one-dimensional characters,

Nonconforming Senator's daughter who runs an artist colony is reunited with her high-school love. Fifteen yrs ago, he leaves her on the day they were supposed to elope to marry his pregnant ex-lover. Now-successful businessman hero professed to have always loved heroine & regretted leaving her but couldn't divulge all the reasons why. He is intent on doing right by her this time around but many people in both their lives are against their reunion due to its financial & social impact & are secretly sabotaging them.
Cameron's writes with some emotional impact & made reading this book go quickly. But it had too many bad moments & bad characters to make it an overall good read. I liked the intensity of hero & heroine's instant attraction/love but I was very turned-off by hero's choice & reasons for leaving heroine. His reasons for leaving her where urgent but he didn't give heroine the opportunity to help him brainstorm some other solutions than him abandoning her. What's worst is that he didn't even try to contact her himself, whether by mail/phone/email/in person, to explain himself or at least apologize. So, when he shows up in her doorstop & tells her he's always loved her 15 years later, I thought he was an arrogant, lying, selfish jerk & hoped the heroine would make him eat some dust. But, no! Heroine was stupid enough to take him back right away without even knowing exactly why he trampled on her heart when they were younger. She was just glad he was back in her life & tried to avoid any detailed discussion of the hurtful events. There were a handful of villains in the story & they were described so negatively, I couldn't find any redeemable value in them. And I guess Cameron didn't either b/c she killed them all in the end. Some scenes (i.e., sex scenes) that involved them were superfluous & sensationalistic. I skipped some pages that featured these villains b/c I didn't care for them & it was patently obvious that their fate were doomed. Watch out for unlikeable characters.

Mousy lead female. Really good looking, arrogant male lead. Super weird 2nd characters. No plot. Disturbing! One of those books I will not pass on to others.

I loved this book! The author did a great job of letting the reader understand the two characters' heartache, loss and love. I laughed and cried and then laughed some more. I definitely recommend True Bliss

True Mess,

I won't go over the plot as other reviewers already have. As for the rating if possible I would have given this a 2 and a half star because the story line had potential. What bogs the story down and is at times confusing is the dialog. It is so stiff and stilted reading it becomes the same as watching bad actors reading their lines. The book from dialog to plot was too static for me. Ms Cameron never developes a flow. Also somewhat alarming is the lack of communication between the main protagonists. Sebastion falls back to the 1980s romantic hero where sex is used to work through any problem. Bliss, a woman we are suppose to believe stood up to her domineering parents, but when dealing with Sebation she just melts, or runs and then melts, or says no but doesn't mean it and melts, or......I hope you see a pattern here. Finally, the apparently savy Sebastion has no clue as to the rather sexually deviant people around him. I found this aspect overdone and rather gratuitous. I think I'll take back that 1/2 star.

Disjointed plot, disappointing characters, buyer beware!,

This review is from: True Bliss (Paperback)
I bought this book at the local book store without reading any reviews, a mistake on my part. I've read other books by Ms Cameron and been pleased, not so with this one. I actually checked the copy right date thinking this must be a reprint of an earlier work {NOT!} as the plot and character development were so lacking. I have learned my lesson and won't buy another of her books without first reading reviews...burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me.

starts off good but in the end too many plot twists,

This review is from: True Bliss (Paperback)
I started off liking this book but midway through I got kinda annoyed with the plot twists. I enjoyed how Bliss and Sebastian reacted to each other. And their love scenes are steamy and innovative. However, the general plot is just too all over the place. It tries to cram too many pieces into the puzzle and quite obviously some don't fit. This detracts attention away from the main couple Bliss and Sebastien.
