5.0 out of 5 stars Rare ep of Madonna classics.
First off you get the full 12" mixes of "True Blue","Everybody" and Papa Don't Preach" but the real find is the 9 minute dub of "Everybody". This is a really rare mix and worth every penny for it. This cd like I stated before is full of classic early Madonna tracks a very good buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother
If your sole reason in getting this is for the colour mix of "true Blue" then I suggest you get the remastered version of the Album by the same name. If you do that you'll get the colour mix of the song as well as other gems. As for this maxi single its not worth the price. Yes "true Blue" is great but the other tracks are nothing to write home...

4.0 out of 5 stars Get it for "Everybody", May 31, 2003
This review is from: True Blue EP (Audio CD)
This is a worthwhile EP to invest in if you want the dub version of "Everybody", which is simply fabulous! This is extremely rare, and worth the price alone for this EP. There's also an extended version of "Everybody" as well. There's also an extended remix of "Papa Don't Preach" which is nice. You can find the Color Mix of "True Blue" on the remaster of TRUE BLUE from 2001. The other track is a instumental of "Live To Tell". Overall this is definately worth it for Madonna collectors!

This review is from: True Blue EP (Audio CD)
This CD is a perefect item to get in your colletion, even more if you are fan. Here you can find a great version of True Blue one of the most beautiful Madonna's song, besides two versions of Every Body the first single and the instrumental version of Live To Tell, all this in just one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very rare Madonna EP, August 9, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: True Blue EP (Audio CD)
The good thing about this EP is that it includes five songs, and four of them are different. I normally find that when a maxi features five or more of the same tracks, you can get very bored, but here there's four of those five tracks that are different, so it's OK. As well as being extremely rare, you also get the full 12" versions to Madonna classics, plus two more songs which is an added bonus! The tracks are:-

1 - True Blue - The Color Mix - 6:38 - A 12"/extended remix

2 - Everybody - Dub Version - 8:59 - Dub's don't have many vocals

3 - Papa Don't Preach - Extended Remix - 5:44 - Another 12"/extended remix, was a #1 for Madonna!

4 - Everybody - Extended Version - 6:00 - Another 12"/extended remix, the same song as #2

5 - Live To Tell - Instrumental - 5:51 - This is just the beat to the beautiful song, which was another #1 for Madonna!

I'm sure if you like Madonna, you will like this EP and know all of the songs! I recommend it, as it's becoming more + more rare!

4.0 out of 5 stars True Love, Baby!, July 13, 2000
By
This review is from: True Blue EP (Audio CD)
It's FABULOUS! The True Blue mix is not much of a mix, so don't worry about it being totally different from the original. The same applies to the other tracks as well. Live to Tell is AWESOME in its instrumental form! This Cd would be 5 stars, if they would've subtracted one of the "Everybody" tracks and added "Who's that Girl"

4.0 out of 5 stars A True Blue Madonna Classic!, April 29, 2003
By
Busy Body (London, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: True Blue EP (Audio CD)
True Blue was the third single to be released from Madonna's third album of the same name. Released in October 1986, True Blue went straight to No.1 in the UK and spent 15 weeks on the chart. It was also Madonna's third No.1 in the UK, but the song didn't do as well in the US.

True Blue begins with a catchy pop beat that sounds very upbeat and incredibly camp. This then adds more of a tune to it, becoming all the more familiar and fun all the time. Madonna then begins her singing with the first verse, "I've had other guys, I've looked into their eyes, but I never knew love before, 'til you walked through my door. I've had other lips, I've sailed a thousand ships, but no matter where I go, you're the one for me baby, this I know 'cause it's..." This first verse is incredibly corny, but you can't help but be swept away by the driving beat and the unique quality to Madonna's vocals, which are much better than what they usually are. Madonna then sings the classic chorus, "True love, you're the one I've been dreaming of, your heart fits like a glove, and I'm gonna be true blue, baby I love." Madonna then gleefully completes her second verse and chorus with pure innocence as we are next introduced to what I feel is the best part of the song. Madonna suddenly begins to sing, "No more sadness, I kiss it good-bye. The sun is bursting right our of the sky. I searched the whole world for someone like you. Don't you know, don't you know it's..." She then obviously goes on to sing the chorus, but this section just mention above has some sort of reaction in me that makes me remember a certain holiday I went on years ago that brings back all the happy memories. I vaguely remember the song being played on a radio station again and again over the course of the three weeks. Madonna then goes on to complete the song with the repetition of the famous chorus a few times. The song slowly winds down like a setting sun as the backing singers take over.

I have to say that the video to True Blue is absolutely apalling! Madonna still has awful bleached-blonde hair and bright lipstick in the video, and dances around in a blue room with her friends - the type of blue room where you can't tell where the floor ends and the walls start! She has three female dancers with whom she dances around a lamp post, sits at a diner, drives a car (incredibly slow) and just acts like a bit of a crazy person! All in all, a great pop classic from Madonna that deserves its fame, but an awful video that will make even the biggest of Madonna fans cringe with embarrassment!

If you do that you'll get the colour mix of the song as well as other gems. As for this maxi single its not worth the price. Yes "true Blue" is great but the other tracks are nothing to write home about. "Everybody" never really goes any where and it sounds so dated. "Papa don't preech" is a good song but the extended RMX is bland. You are not missing a thing by not having this version. "Live to Tell" is a good instrumental track and along with "True Blue" was the only reason I gave it three stars. In my opinion this CD single is not worth the asking price; like I said buy the remastered album of True Blue and you'll be much better off.

4.0 out of 5 stars True Blue Classic., September 29, 2006
This review is from: True Blue EP (Audio CD)
This cd single is o.k, but if you want it primarily for the color mix, then I would recommend that you buy the remastered True Blue album as
it has the color mix on it.
The other tracks on the cd single are just "average" so the remastered True Blue album is probably the best choice.
