WARNING: THIS CD IS COPY CONTROLLED,
By LONE ST4R (Austin, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: True Colours (Audio CD)
I'd like to review this album, but unfortunately I can't even listen to it as it won't play on my Mac--which, along with the iPod, is how I listen to music--because it's COPY CONTROLLED. (This fact was not mentioned anywhere on the product's Amazon.com webpage when I ordered it or at the time I'm writing this.) While Kasey Chambers is totally a five star act, I can't give this album more than one star because any copy protection that penalizes legitimate buyers is absolutely ridiculous.Even if you don't own a Mac, you may want to pass on COPY CONTROLLED CDs as they supposedly won't work on other types of players as well, such as Microsoft's Xbox videogame console.

First single ever,

This is actually the first single that I have ever bought and it definitely won't be the last if they all are as good as this one. I love Kasey Chambers and I absolutely love this album. True Colors is officially my favorite song and no one could cover it better than Kasey. All 3 songs are new and amazing. This is a great sample as we wait for her next album.

Warning! This CD is not 'good taste' controlled!,

If I could have given this intolerable noise minus three stars I most certainly would have done so. Cindy Lauper wrote a song that could be be described as sentimental schlock. However, having it sung by the 'fingernails-across-the-blackboard' non-voice of Kasey Chambers is too much. The song now sounds like a total 'bummer' - sung by a loser with no voice and bogus American accent (is there anything Ms Chambers won't do to appear like an American?).It is a sin that there are thousands of talented young people in conservatoria and universities around Australia studying the art of singing and this talentless strangled cat gets publicity? Please give up singing, Kasey! For the sake of our eardrums and good taste! THIS IS VERY BAD MUSIC. |
