Book Description

It’s going to take a fight, I know that. But it’s more than just a fight for my life. It’s a fight for my soul and my soul mate.’
Jazzy Williams is not your average coffee-loving teen. She's battling depression, an overprotective big brother, and a depressed mother, all while trying to make friends at her new school. In the first week, she meets a gorgeous green-eyed hottie who turns out to be more than just some high school crush -- he's more than human. And she unknowingly enrages a dangerous breed of demon who wants her soul and life as payment. With the help of supernatural friends and protectors, Jazzy thinks she's safe until what remains of her family is put in danger. Does Jazzy have what it takes to save her family, life, soul, and soul mate, or will all be lost?
*Warning* Mature Content. This contains some profanity, mild sexual situations, innuendos, and violence. Recommended for ages 16 and up, depending on maturity level.

“In most YA novels, the love is instant. In True Connection, Jazzy & Seth’s love grew slowly. That’s what makes this book so special.” – New York Times best selling author, Emma Hart
“Wonderful first in a new paranormal series, you may just call out sick to finish this book.” – Carey Heywood, author of Stages of Grace and Him
“Rachel Walter takes the soul mate bond to a new level in True Connection. It’s a fresh take on what it’s like to connect to someone from the supernatural world.” – Crazy Book Chicks

5.0 out of 5 stars A YA Paranormal hit! August 10, 2013
By nicki
Format:Kindle Edition
When I started reading this book, I didn't realize it was a YA book. I wasn't in the mood for YA, but I decided since I started it I should keep going. I am SO happy I did. This book moved at a great pace, I don't feel like Jaz learned things too early or that her and Seth came together too soon, it was all at the perfect time. I love the secondary characters also, though Barry is making me question his feelings. I'm glad there wasn't a hard cliffhanger, though there is a transition to the next book. Can't wait!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great New Paranormal YA August 14, 2013
By Allura
Format:Paperback
*I received an eARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I so enjoyed this book. It had me captured and enthralled within the first 5%. I thought it was sweet, funny, and thoroughly captured young adult relationships - including friendship, family, and love. I loved Jazzy. She was the kind of girl I would love to be friends with. She's sweet, funny, and compassionate. Jazzy and her family suffer quite a tragedy and it tears a hole into their little universe. Upon moving in with their Uncle and to their rival school, Jazzy and her brother, Henry, have to make new friends and deal with all that they loss. On their first day Jazzy meets Skeeter, and quirky but friendly girl in her art class, and Seth, a quiet, gorgeous, and mysterious classmate. Both of whom I'll get to in a minute but first I want to talk about Jazzy and Henry, plus the three giants.

Jazzy has a very close relationship with her brother, Henry. At first I was worried it was going to get creepy but it didn't, they're relationship is so refreshing and sweet. It's nice to see siblings in a novel that actually get along and appreciate each other. Furthermore, I just love Henry, he's so sweet and good to the people he loves. However, he has quite the protective streak. I found it hilarious when he introduces the three "giants" (Flynn, Barry, and Tony) to Jazzy and the four of them begin harping on Jazzy about her friendship with Seth. Between the four of them I don't know how Jazzy doesn't literally pull her hair out. Despite their over-protectiveness, they're a bunch of goofballs. I loved the comedic relief they offered the story.

Onto Seth...he was a doll. He was kind and caring and just a total sweetheart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Amazing July 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
When I opened True Connection I was excited to see what Rachel had written. She was stressing over it and I knew it had to be good. I had been hearing about all these characters for a long time. Let me say this now, I love paranormal books and Rachel Walter is on POINT with this one! Most all are the same either wolves or vampires. Rachel brings more to the table with her own. I don't want to explain what Seth is you must read for yourself.
Jazzy and her brother Henry have to start a new school because they have had to move to their uncles house. Their Dad and sister died in an accident and their mom needed to be in a home because she wasn't dealing with it too well. Starting a new school is hard, but Henry seems to make some great friends with some guys and Jazzy meets a girl named Skeeter. I LOVE HER! But then a guy notices her. Seth. Wow he sounds amazing. Seth gets to know Jazzy and something strange happens........ She can her his thoughts in her mind! Now this is something I LOVE! You can only hear the thoughts of your soul mate in this story! LOVE IT! Wouldn't that be awesome in real life? Not the thoughts of others but the ONE you are supposed to be with! Ok I digress. Henry's friends all seem protective of Jazzy and are a bit gruff about Seth. Why is that? Hmmm you'll have to see. But the one who sticks out the most is my FAVORITE! Barry! Ya you would think I would be all swoony over Seth, but no. Don't get me wrong he sounds AMAZING and cute and hot and all take charge and caring and protecting Jazzy, but Barry something about him just draws you. Ya maybe he is crude a little and rough around the edges, but I find that funny!
When things start happening and Jazzy becomes unsafe, Barry is sent to help protect her family. Why you ask?

5.0 out of 5 stars A New and Fresh take on Soul Mates July 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
True Connection is hard for me to review because I'm too afraid to give too much away and no one likes someone who spoils the book. Before True Connection was completely finished, I had the pleasure of chatting with Rachel beforehand. We would share snippets and help each other out however we could. Most of the time it was moral support. So when Rachel asked, or maybe it was more of me saying I want to beta True Connection, I absolutely fell in love with this story.

Jazzy's character is real. She can be the girl standing next to you in line or sitting behind you in a movie theater. That's what one of the many things I loved about Rachel's book. Her characters are so real that you'll find yourself looking for them. Back to Jazzy. Jazzy and her brother Henry have to move in with their uncle after an unfortunate accident. Doesn't seem that bad right? Well it is when the new school you'll be attending is the rivals to your old school. She just wants to lay low and graduate. Nothing's that easy. Jazzy is gaining the attention from the star-quarterback, Derik. I don't know about y'all but I never really cared for the attitude of the popular crowd. Now don't get me wrong not all of them have that attitude were they think they are better than everyone, but the ones that did, yea don't care! So Derik is a douche. You'll have to figure out why though!

It doesn't stop there though. Then she starts hearing something following her in the halls. What is it, a ghost maybe? Talk about a first day of school! But it gets better because a boy makes an appearance. An incredibly hot boy, but I'll use Jazzy's words

"The kind of guy that makes your eyes bug out, your mouth water, your heart beat of your chest, and your brain turn to mush."

Yup, let me introduce you to Seth.
