Embolden with true courage, April 27, 2011
This review is from: True Courage: Emboldened by God in a Disheartening World (Bold Man of God) (Paperback)
"True Courage" by Steve Farrer is a look at Daniel and how we can apply the courage that Daniel showed into our growth as Christians. For many, its a walk that was going strong, only to be interrupted by life circumstances, or maybe its just a continual life long journey that we sometimes go forward and sometimes go backwards. Showing us how in and through our Heavenly Father, we can have the courage to face the lions in our den, "True Courage" is about doing things that are counter intuitive to what the modern world would teach us. Inspiring and strong and written with a layman style that, particularly, in today's world of uncertainty, will help those who find themselves struggling not only with just "why", but "how" and "what", "True Courage" is about tomorrow may change, but God is bigger than all of our circumstances. This is a book that is well worth reading for those who find themselves struggling with courage while facing their lions. Thank you to Audra Jennings of TBB Media for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Inspiring Courage For The Faint of Heart, October 1, 2011
Steve Farrar has written another biblical and practical winner. I have read all of Farrar's books and this practical exposition on the first 6 chapters of the Book of Daniel does not disappoint. A good friend of mine recommended I read this book because we are both going through a tough time - much like Daniel - feeling like aliens in a foreign land, fearful or our countries direction, and having our faith tested in the fire. Desperate times sometimes make us desperate, but the reality is that God is still on the throne and sovereign over all and uses his own people through their courage and convictions as thy take a stand for Him. Farrar writes, "In a nutshell, Daniel displayed True Courage by: Fearing God more than man; Trusting God with his future; and Realizing God's governance over all events. Farrar develops these themes throughout the book with many excellent illustrations, examples, and applications of how genuine courage is derived from fearing, trusting, and realizing God's sovereign rule over the universe and our individual lives. The book of Daniel is a tremendously encouraging book for our own times, and Farrar does a phenomenal job of showing its relevancy and numerous applications from its exposition of it, so that we can overcome our fears, worries, anxieties, and become strengthened because we have an all omniscient, omnipotent, and sovereign God who will give us the courage and grace we need sufficiently for each day - as he did for Daniel several thousand years ago. I highly recommend this book as one that will better equip you to be a courageous man or woman of God in these difficult days.

TRUE COURAGE, November 21, 2011
Ever since Steve Farrar wrote Point Man, he has been churning out books aimed the hearts and minds of men. Farrar has consistently called men to holiness. He has called them to lead their families. He has called them to lead in their churches. His latest book calls Christian men to demonstrate True Courage. The author points readers to Daniel (specifically Daniel 1-6) and argues that this man is an example of true courage. Indeed, "True courage is the result of knowing God." The man who displays true courage fears God more than man, trusts God with his future, and realizes that God governs all events. The simple point: Since God ordains everything that comes to pass, Christian men must bank on this reality and muster true courage in these last days. Steve Farrar maintains his commitment to the authority of Scripture in this helpful volume. He cites the great heroes of the Christian faith and stands on the shoulders of the Puritans and Reformers. His work is encouraging and will serve men well - especially men who seek to be men of true courage.
