So if you want a case that's cheap and sits there looking pretty, you certainly can't beat this for the money. If you want something to actually carry wine around, carry it from the bottom.
Has a very classic look. There is lots of room inside. In fact, suggest
that you wrap each bottle in a sof cloth or they will rattle inside.
The exterior leather straps, handle, and latch are all "lightly" riveted in place. The box itself and interior dividers are made from very dry and seemingly brittle single-ply wood that is about 1/4" thick at best.
So if you plan to throw 6 bottles of liquor or wine in here and carry it around like a suitcase, the first thing to tear or fall off in short order will probably be the very thin leather strap handle. If it gets dropped or exposed to any hard jolts, the wooden box would undoubtedly crack pretty easily. And if it's exposed to moisture, I'm pretty sure the dry wood used in construction would warp easily and it wouldn't take much to make the vinyl exterior start peeling away.
ALL THAT SAID... If it's used as a decorative piece for wine or liquor storage... If it's kept dry... If it's not dropped... If it's carried from underneath rather than using the handle... Then it is undoubtedly a very cool looking storage case for a relatively low price.
I was looking for a solution to store liquor bottles on my boat that would keep them from banging together and breaking even in rolling seas and this case fit the bill perfectly. It fits nicely in the cabinet under the boat's sink, it looks like a nautical pirate chest, and keeps all the rum bottles safe & sound.
Bottom line... If you're expecting it to remain intact through the tortures of travel and shipping like a real steamer trunk then you're going to be disappointed. But for only $27.00 it makes a great decorative case to store or present 6 wine or liquor bottles.

Very cute print. But very cheap materials. Not a good description for this idem. The buckles are not real. the wood is very thin and the hinges were misplaced so it opened crookedPublished 24 days ago by lauryl t.
