5.0 out of 5 stars If Amazon would let me give it ten stars I would! March 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Amanda has done it yet again. She has created a beautiful story with believable characters who actually develop and evolve along the way!

I love how she was able to peel back the layers, a little at a time with Morrigan, our heroine. Just when you think you have her figured out, Amanda gives us another peek at another layer and I found myself happily surprised. Morrigan is a very strong woman who simply wants what is best for her family and her clan. She wants to be feminine but doesn't quite believe she can be or deserves to be. And I like the fact that she isn't whiny or wimpy about it. She maintains her strength and resolve and independence along the way while evolving into the fine woman she wants to be. How cool is that?

And our hero, Dragonet. Wow! He has his own obstacles to overcome and he does it with honor and integrity. It was pleasant to see a hero who isn't brooding or dark or fighting inner demons. It was also nice to have a hero who hasn't slept around taking every lass that he can along the way.

The story is exciting, intriguing and funny. No one and I do mean no one makes me laugh out loud until I have tears in my eyes like Amanda does! I also like the fact that the `love scenes' aren't vulgar or too descriptive!

On a scale of 1 to 5 I give True Highland Spirit ten stars! ;o) I honestly enjoyed the story and cannot wait for Amanda's next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A new voice in Highland action romance March 19, 2012
Format:Mass Market Paperback
There is a great peculiarity about the Highlands and Highlanders; and they are such a chivalrous, fine, active people. - Queen Victoria

The Highlands inspired Queen Victoria to build her own summer home, Balmoral Castle, in Scotland. The Highlands inspired many an author to write about their heroes, their challenges, and their spirit. Some critics believe the Highlands have been saturated in historical romance. Yet Amanda Forester delivers a page turning action romance that is a little different - it presents the whole story of clan living following Robert the Bruce's rise to power.

TRUE HIGHLAND SPIRIT stands out with its potpourri elements during medieval life - a selfless heroine, chivalrous hero, dastardly enemy, political intrigue, and Templar treasure. Forester keeps the story moving at right pace to enjoy character development and explosive action lead to undeniable romance. Recommended read for those who enjoy Highland stories but seek an out of the box perspective of this glorious land.
