5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Miss Out on Hallema!
I just finished reading both books (Mass Deception and True Intentions) and I must say she is one of the best writers to come along in a very long time. I was so into the books that I cut everyone off until I finished both books because I simply couldn't put them down. I've told all my friends and now I'm telling everybody not to miss out on Hallema because she's at the...

I read "True Intention" and I still like the story. The writing is a little better. It is a good-fun read and I can't waited until the next story,"Wishful Thinking". Good Job.

I was so into the books that I cut everyone off until I finished both books because I simply couldn't put them down. I've told all my friends and now I'm telling everybody not to miss out on Hallema because she's at the top of her game. When you read the books, you will not be disappointed. Keep up the good work Hallema and I can't wait until the next episode.

5.0 out of 5 stars If I Was Your Woman, July 27, 2005
This review is from: True Intentions (Mass Deception) (Paperback)
The continuity between "Mass Deception" and "True Intentions" was remarkable. While the synopsis conjured up images of possible ramifications of Toni Godwin's persistence in withholding the fact that she was once a man from her fiance' John Collins, the author sated one's appetite with salacious scenarios anticipating the unveiling. On a few occasions I turned the pages while gasping and holding my breath with each close call, as Toni's best friend and personal fashion coach Devon, AKA Ms. Divine, and her mother Linda, implored her to tell John the truth. Alternately, empathy, foreboding, love, rapture and repudiation coursed through the lives of the principal characters as the plot unfolded.

Hallema further developed other characters in this sequel which facilitated its flow. The first person point of view was the most engaging to show the rejuvenation of Linda's sexuality, the repulsion of Tommy Jones when the "jig was up", Cynthia's secret escapade in Las Vegas, Michele's cancer scare and ultimately the climax after Toni and John's wedding. Irrespective of the character's role in revealing Toni's "true intentions", the reader was able to connect with them emotionally.

Hallema has certainly established an audience who anxiously awaits the finale of this trilogy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, December 2, 2007
This review is from: True Intentions (Mass Deception) (Paperback)
Hallema is the next big thing! I've read both of her novels and I must say that if I knew where she lived I would knock on her front door and demand a copy of the next one, but since I don't I guess I will have to wait for "Wishful Thinking" like everyone else, but for those who haven't read her first two jaw dropping novels you have a lot of catching up to do!

5.0 out of 5 stars True Intentions in a Triumph!, June 13, 2007
This review is from: True Intentions (Mass Deception) (Paperback)
Hallema has got to be the next BIG thing in the literary world. With 'True Intentions', she picks up exactly where she left off with 'Mass Deception' and had me hanging on her every word. I couldn't put it down! 'True Intentions' has everything! Intrigue, sex, insight, and Hallema's unique brand of sharp wit steeped in her knowledge of the worlds of straight and gay dating. Kudos to Hallema for crafting a truly entertaining romp through the extraordinary life that is "Toni Goodwin's"

4.0 out of 5 stars Here We Go Again, August 4, 2005

Toni T. Goodwin can't get around the lie that she's carrying. Or can she? Already engaged to handsome, smart and wealthy John Collins, she feels that she's the luckiest girl in the world. Everyone who is privy to her little secret constantly give her the best advice: come clean with John or this entire thing will blow up in your face.

Although Toni would love nothing better than to be honest with John, she just can't seem to find the time to tell him the truth. Or, could it be her flashbacks of the last time she tried to be honest with a man? Was it the fact that she ended up in the hospital that's giving her reservations? No matter what, the truth is bound to come out, one way or another.

As the engagement party and wedding draws nearer, Toni is faced with the inevitable. There are people who have figured out her secret, and she's pushed up against the wall. To make matters worse, the same person who put her in the hospital the first time is an old friend of John's, and is invited to the engagement party and the wedding. It's time for Toni to make a decision. Her intentions are true; aren't they?

HALLEMA does it again with part two of this trilogy, which overall, is a good story and quick read. The only thing that's a noticeable flaw is the fact that almost the entire ending from the first book was put into the second. But, if you haven't read the first one, it will definitely bring you up to speed. Toni T. Goodwin and the other characters are still full of fun and hilarious antics, and it definitely leaves you waiting for the third installment of this trilogy - Toni's not the only one with secrets. If you want a good laugh, you won't be disappointed. TRUE INTENTIONS is sure to lift your spirits.
