3.0 out of 5 stars "True Love Conquers All"
True Love was a good novel to read, even though it did get boring the more I read. Sometimes, the supporting players' storylines are better than the main characters'. The novel should have focused mainly on, Breanna and Trent, Callie and Paul, and even Thomas for that matter. Nick and Shayla.....snooze city!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars "It Surely Is True Love", August 28, 2000
This review is from: True Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
If you are not a fan of Brenda Jackson, then let this book be the reason you now choose to become one of her fans.

First, I have to give a shout out to Brenda Jackson who I have had the pleasure of not just reading all of her books, but to meet her personally and have the opportunity to work with her on major events. So I have seen first hand of the personality of Brenda Jackson. To my fellow readers, the love she illustrates in all her books revolving around family and friends; well for Brenda Jackson it comes naturally seeing it with my own eyes of how she loves and respects, family, friends and her fans. So it is no surprise to me after reading her most recent book, True Love that once again she had not disappointed me as one of her loyal fans and friend.

Fellow readers of Brenda and those who need to become one, listen you will love reading about Sterling Hamilton's half brother, Nicholas Chenault. Remember Nicholas was introduced in the book called, "One Special Moment' featuring Colby and Sterling. Well in this book Nicholas takes center stage as CEO of Chenault Electronics and the heroine, Shayla Kirkland who comes to work for him. Now this does not have the high adventure like, Fire and Desire. But it offers you a story with many stories built into one book.

If you enjoy high technology suspense, revenge, deceit, betrayal, lots and lots of intimacy, a few twists and turns, able to keep up with handling more than one relationship taking place.....Then this is a Brenda Jackson special that you will keep turning the pages until you realize its the wee hours of the morning but you just can't put the book down until its finished.

Brenda, thank you for always bringing us such exciting books to read that leaves us with lasting memories.

Always your friend and namesake,

Brenda

Brenda Jackson does a masterful job of weaving connecting stories yet each one stands great on its own. The story of Nicholas and Shayla shows true love leaves no room for hate, revenge, or anger. It also shows love is not enough but needs more components to survive. This is beautifully shown with Nicholas and Shayla, Trent and Brenna, as well as Paul and Callie. This story fits a line from Mrs. Jackson's previous novel 'Secret Love'. "Nothing is as safe as a secret forever."

5.0 out of 5 stars Brenda has done it again!!, November 8, 2000
This review is from: True Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Another great read by Brenda. This women has so much talent that it just spills out onto the paper. Ok, I'm bias, but the Lady has mad skills (that means she is very good at what she does)! I just loved Nicholas, but of course he is Sterlings little brother. Shayla 's character was the bomb! I loved this book. And what was even better is that there was an update on Trevor and Corinthians, and Corinthians' best friend, Brenna, got a story in this book. Her next book due out next year is Surrender, that's Ashton Sinclair's story. Brenda also has some work coming out with St. Martin's Press later this year and the next. Go out and get a copy of all Brenda's work. Keep up the great work Mrs. Jackson!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brenda!! You've Done It Again Girl!!!!, October 5, 2000

Shayla was determined to get revenge for the hurt her mother suffered. She was a very educated and well rounded young woman. She knew she had what it takes to destroy Chenault Electronics and TJ Electronics. What she didn't count on was falling in love with Chenault's CEO Nicholas Chenault.

Nicholas was tired of the same ol' same ol'. He had not been involved with a woman for about a year. Nick always loved his own space. At least that was before he met and embraced Shayla. Shayla did things to this man that no woman has ever done.

This story has so much drama in it, if I continue, I might give away the real good parts. I will say that Nicholas and Shayla went through alot to be together. There was 2 other romances in this book that were just as enjoyable and their romances didn't detour you from the plot of this story. You discover a family secret that should have been buried with Shayla's mother, and a few other things that will not only shock you, but shocked Shayla as well.

If you have ever read any of Brenda Jackson's books, you know the book is the BOMB! Get it, read it, you won't regret it.

Mrs. Jackson has done it again. I start reading this book and did
not put it down until it was finished. I like the idea of having
two love story in the book. Not only the two new but the one
old love story between Shayla parents. The passion it was great.
There were times when I thought I had the story finished then
you put a different twist in it. Will there be story of Shayla
parents? Well, keep up the good work and God Bless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brenda Jackson has done it again!!, September 25, 2000
This review is from: True Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have been truly anticipating the release of this novel and I must say that it was worth the wait. We were first introduced to Nicholas in the novel "One Special Moment." Nich ia the half brother of Sterling Hamilton.

When Nick sets out to interview Shayla Kirkland he was not expecting to fall in love at first sight.

Shayla has a drawn out plan to destroy Nick's company for what they did to her mother 27 years ago. But when she gets to really know Nick she begins to have doubts that she can go through with it.

I love the way that Brenda tells this story. You are hook from the very beginning and can not put it down until it is finished. You also get a bonus story with Brenna and Trent.

If you have not read any of Brenda Jackson's books you are missing something exciting. She is my all time favorite. I can't wait for Ashton's story next year.

5.0 out of 5 stars I just adore you, Brenda!!!!!!, September 8, 2000
This review is from: True Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Brenda, you did it again. I was very impressed with the way you took this one. Nick and Shayla had it going on. What can I say that hasn't been said. You are one of my best. The story lines were very well developed in the suspence, the twist and the rough and tender sweet encounters are much to swallow. I really enjoyed the suprises you developed and they took a very active part in the development of your closing.

I already emailed you and told you that I hate that I have to wait for that full novel next year. Of course, I know it WILL BE WORTH EVERY WAITING MOMENT

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!!!!, September 14, 2004
This review is from: True Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
A story that proves revenage never pays especially when there's a handsome man involved. Shayla Kirkland is set out for revenage on the company that she swears destroyed her mother. What she never counts on is the handsome, fine brother that now runs the company, and the strong attraction between them. Can she keep a level head to carry out her plan or will she end up falling for the handsome CEO Nicholas Chenault?

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot and Steamy, September 10, 2002
This review is from: True Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Brenda Jackson has succeeded in writing another GREAT book. Nicholas and Shayla were wonderful to read about. Their joining was a very heated one and Ms. Jackson gave us all the description. She shows us without trust there can be no love. I cant wait to read another one of novels. I tell you I am hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars The First is Last, April 25, 2001
This review is from: True Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was my intro into the world as created by Ms Jackson. I was captivated enough with Nicholas Chenault who we met in One Special Moment and Shayla Kirkland to get the series, I am still looking for Kyle and Kimara's story. It's fitting since I've posted my comments on the other books, I honor this one last.

Shayla Kirkland is on a mission of revenge for a wrong committed against her deceased mother by Chenault Electronics now headed by Nicholas Chenault, along with Thomas Jordache the man she believes to be her father. Shayla's masterplan of getting on the inside to destroy the company is circumvented after immediately being hired by Chenault Electronics she is headed for Japan with Nicholas to help secure the agreement around a major project. Shayla finds herself drawn to the sexy and driven Nicholas, but when negotiations present the perfect opportunity to carry out her plan, her heart wont let her sabotage the project. Nick's heart too is experiencing conflict, he let his guard down with Shayla and is afraid of what he feels for her.

As Nick and Shayla decide to explore their relationship, someone else is trying to sabatoge the project and although bad blood points to Thomas Jordache, Nicholas and Shayla as well as Paul, the man who is like a second father to Nick and Shayla's Aunt Callie must some face truths. They must open their hearts to trust and forgive, as they are confronted with deep rooted secrets that have held a family hostage to the past.

I liked the story woven in between Nick and Shayla's story about Trent Jordache Nick's best friend, only son of Thomas and nephew of Paul with Brenna St James, Corinthians best friend. Brenna and Trent sail the high seas toward their "true love".
