I was born in Philadelphia PA, grew up (mostly) in Hialeah FL, graduated from the University of South Florida, Tampa FL (go Bulls!) and currently live in Chattanooga TN---I'm an American citizen by birth, and Southern by the grace of God.
I have a brother, three years younger, married, and mathematically gifted. I am totally without math skills.
The books I write, the topics and subject matter, grew out of my firstborn son's diagnosis of diabetes at age 3. Infinite reward that comes to me from my work.... when a grown reader lets me know that reading my books inspired her to seek a profession that helps others. I have wonderful letters saying, "Today I graduated from nursing/medical school."
Now that's a gift of joy!

I love this combo of stories into one book. More bang for your buck. I love the first two stories, but the third no so much.
The first story is about a football player named Luke and the discovery of having cancer threatens his relationship with girlfriend Julie. At first he pushes her away, but soon both realized how much they loved on another. Luke was thought to be in readmission, but his disease threatens his life again.
The second story is real sweet. It's about this girl named Carley who hates how she look because after removing a tumor from her left face, left it disoriented. At the hospital she meets a boy named Kyle who suffered from a explosion and therefore lost his sight. Carley and Kyle were getting along, and feelings starts to develop, but Carley is scared that once Kyle regains his eyesight he'll be scared away by Carley appearance. Therefore she hides her true self from him, but once Kyle gets his eyesight back, he is stubborn in wanting to see Carley and thank her for her kindness in the hospital. What will happen when Kyle comes face to face with Carley???? You must read the book to find out!
Sadly, i didn't like the third book as much and it had to do with the style of writing. It's written in forms of diary entries, letters, emails and chats. Different characters are speaking and it's all over the place. The underlining story is about two childhood friends whose friendship turns in romance. Though Jesse have moved away he comes back to help Melinda in her time of need.

True Love consists of three novels written by Lurlene McDaniel which make up this 600+ page tome.
Don't Die My Love Julie Ellis and Luke Muldenhower have been together since the sixth grade. They're now in high school and still love each other unconditionally. Luke is the star quarterback on the football team. They lack for nothing - popularity, good grades, but especially love. They are considering what colleges they plan on attending, Luke is expecting a full scholarship as an athlete, everything is looking up for them. That is, until the day Luke confesses that he hasn't been feeling all that well. He has been lethargic, weak and has been losing weight. Upon examination it is discovered that Luke has Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Not only is Luke's life in jeopardy but will their love be able to surpass such a devastating blow?
I'll be Seeing You Kyle Westin is blinded when a chemistry experiment goes wrong. While at the hospital he meets Carley Mattea. As their friendship and their feelings for one another grow, Carley suffers more and more knowing that she hasn't been truly honest with Kyle. For although Kyle is blind he is a very good looking young man. But Carley is not pretty - her face is deformed and she cannot help but doubt that Kyle would still love her if he really knew how she looked. Will their love be able to overcome the superficial or will that age old battle between beauty on the outside rather than the inside prevail?
