I am a big Marie Force fan and have read all her books. This one did not disappoint! The story is about Liana and Travis. Liana is a very famous supermodel & is home in Rhode Island attending her cousin's wedding. They are at this beautiful new club-resort, and she is wearing the most hideous maid of honor dress. Travis has worked so hard to get his club-resort going, this wedding was the key to its future success. Afterall, the wedding was from RI's wealthiest family so he knew the exposure would be great promotion. Everything had to be perfect for this wedding, when he noticed the beautiful girl in the hideous dress. At first he didn't even know who she was, but after he foiund out, he really didn't care. He found her very attractive and asked her to dance. Liana found him to be very attractive but she was weary of men in general and their intentions, due to her career. Travis was to take Liana home, but instead he takes her to his house so she can take her dress off. While at his place, she changes & they share an electric, passionate kiss, but it ends there. They both agree to get to know each other better, during her 2 week time off from work. They later agree to a no emotions, no strings attached fling. She is constantly hounded by the media so they have to watch carefully what they do & have to sneak around.

They go through their time together, sharing everything, talking about family and work and soon find themselves falling in love, but not saying it; afterall, they had agreed on a no emotions fling. There is another secondary love story, it is from Travis' best friend Beck and another model, friend of Liana.

There are a few secondary characters in the book that were great, adding to this lovely love story. Romace was steamy hot, heart warming, emotional and entertaining. Book was well written and it was an easy read for me! Very enjoyable!

I'm so very picky when it comes to my books. I hadn't read a modern story in awhile so I picked this one up. It was a gamble because I'm of the type to believe that 100% 5 star reviews are friends of the author or just some people being paid or serious bias.

But I was shocked to read this story and see that True North lives up to the hype. I gave it 4 stars for a reason I'll mention later.

I loved this story. Travis IS the hero/male lead you want to read. He's handsome, smart, so very kind and just all around perfect. But he's real. He's perfectly imperfect. His ambition towards his club is wonderful and his personality just makes him swoon-worthy. He's determined to make his country club venue a success but local people are giving him trouble with vandalism because he's an outsider who came into town. He meets Liana at the first big event at his club, the wedding of her cousin Enid. He recognizes her but can't put his finger on from where. He finds out that she's a world famous Victoria Secret and Sports Illustrated supermodel. But Travis is intrigued by what's behind her violet blue eyes. Her beauty is hard to ignore but Travis is such a good guy he wants to know what's behind that beauty.

Now, my 4 stars comes from a two reasons:

1. The secondary characters of Beck and Jessie have the better love story. Jessie is a heartbreaking character and you love her finding peace with quiet natured, but strong Beck. Beck is Travis' head of security at the country club and Jessie is a fellow model Liana knows. Jessie comes to the club to hide out from a sex offender stalker and she confides in Beck about her traumatic past and you fall in love with these two.

You fall for Travis and Liana as well but Liana has SOME hangup and Marie Force never reveals it. Her and Travis agree to a 2 week fling and it's obvious they fall in love but Liana refuses to give up her career or even talk about it because of the time span. She keeps saying she "just...can't" and you get the feeling it's some big reason as to why but it's never revealed. Travis lets his guard down but Liana holds back when EVERYONE and their mother and hers is telling her Travis is the real deal and she needs to admit it but she holds back so much that those tiny things made me mad at her and not really care and want to read more about Beck and Jessie and I hated that because the book is ABOUT Travis and Liana.

Liana naturally comes to her senses but her resistance put tiny dampers on some places. But overall the story and Travis, Liana's mom, Beck and Jessie are so good Liana's annoying resistance can be overlooked. But I wanted to mention it because I know others will be annoyed with her too.

2. I really wish Marie Force had included an epilogue. The ending is great but it feels like she forgot to add in an epilogue and it just cuts off and you find yourself turning the page and wondering where it is.

Overall if you want a GREAT all around story I URGE you to pick this book up. Take it from one VERY picky reader, you'll be happy you read this one.

I just loved True North. Liana is a world class model. Travis is a resort owner in Liana's home town. They meet when Liana's cousin gets married at Travis' resort. Liana and Travis are both gorgeous people. That is quickly forgotten with Force's characterization and sexy, emotional writing.
Liana and Travis are down to earth, honest people that both know that beauty is only skin deep. As we follow their path to happiness, we see their strength of character, their support of each other and their friends and how they handle internal & external conflicts. I've read all of Force's work and she continues to surprise me with the variety of her plots while still keeping the writing voice that I love. I can't wait to read more.
