Customer Reviews

I use the knife and the bottle opener the most, and its great to always have them in a pinch.
Jennifer Hull
Unfortunately, it's really not as useful as it's made out to be - some things are downright useless, specifically the tweezers and the wire cutter.
Rick
I will say, this is a little awkward to use given it's size and shape, and isn't so comfortable in your hand.

I'm a sucker for keyring multi-tools, so I had to try this one. I'm a bit disappointed. I didn't pay close attention to the description, so I didn't notice that the tool wraps around a key. It is made of very thin stainless steel sheet metal 0.030 inch thick.

The bottle opener works, but the sharp blade of the medium screwdriver will try to cut you if you are not careful. The description here says that the supporting key helps strengthen the bottle opener, but only a very tiny key would leave room for the opener to work.

The medium and wide screwdrivers are tapered so they are much thinner than the 0.030 body and seem like they will not stand up to any serious loosening of screws.

The nail cleaners work OK, but the small screwdriver works better for the purpose.

The file is very dull. It barely cuts my fingernails.

The cutter worked well on a piece of heavy twine.

The tweezers work better than I expected, though obviously they do not have much "reach" and you must remove the unit from the key in order to use them.

Will TSA take this away from me like they took my Swiss Tech tool?

This product is effectively a bottle opener that you can put on your keychain without taking up an appreciable amount of extra pocket space. A real dedicated bottle opener will work better, though, if you are willing to give up the space. Having used the little bottle opener in a Leatherman Micra for years, I've learned that the width of a bottle opener is the biggest factor in its effectiveness. This one is wider simply due to the fact that it has a prong on each side of the tool. The tiny screwdriver on the tip is also somewhat useful.

Pretty brilliant, except it takes a bit of practice to avoid cutting yourself. I did this a couple times early on, and then learned that you have to put leverage further back, on the key. The most natural grip is to put your index finger right around the medium screwdriver, and your thumb on top. This leads to cuts. Even moving your index finger back makes it a little pokey with the tweezers, but not enough to cut, and it works. You can also grip it sideways, with thumb and index finger on each side, as in the promotional picture, although that gives less leverage (and you need leverage with a somewhat thin bottle opener). If I had not been able to work this out, I would have given this tool 2 stars instead of 4. On the other hand, if they just eliminated the tweezers (useless unless you take the thing apart - how are you going to squeeze them together with the key between them?), and more importantly the medium screwdriver (presumably moving it across the tool, in place of the large screwdriver), then I'd give it 5 stars.

This tool is great! I've had it on my keys for about a month now, so I havnt had to use many of the tools yet, but it still gives me the reassurance of being prepared when I'm in school and cannot carry my knives on me. There are some downsides, though. For one, the tweezers were unable to pull a small splinter from my thumb. If you want these for the tweezers, consider the swiss army knife with the tweezers, instead. Also, the wire cutter, while sharp as it looks, was unable to cut a ziptie, which is understandable, but when I looked back at the tool, the ziptie had bent it some. Of course, the small screwdriver did the trick to shim it, but the wire cutter scould be used only for wire and small cordage.

to make this short am gonna say I'm a bit disappointed with it. its a cheap key ring with many useless things:

the file tool is crappy and won't file
the bottle opener is ok
the cut is ok
tweezers are a stupid joke

I got it from another site with sale on it ($7.99)

Would I buy again? maybe if it is 3$ or less!

This product fits perfectly on my house key. I thought it would be too wide and wouldn't fit right, but it is awesome because it like i have the true utility keytool on my key chain and my house just morphed inside of it like bionic multi-purpose armor. Looks awesome, feels awesome, opens beers great. WTF else needs to be said.

I'm very satisfied with this purchase, some things were better than I thought and some worse but all in all it was a worthwhile purchase and could be a decent stocking stuffer etc.

Bottle opener? Check, works fine.
Nail cleaner? Aw my favorite, I'm always sticking screw drivers, credit cards, forks, etc. . . up my nails to clean them and now its nice to have something for that. On a related note, a number of the other non-nail specific edges actually work just as well so this is possible a redundant function.
The screwdrivers? Sure they'll work in a pinch.
The tweezers? They work but I don't often need tweezers.
The file? Garbage. It's so dull and couldn't file a nail in a million years.
The mini carabiner clip? (Yes this is actually listed as one of the 8 functions) I don't use it. The only reason to ever take it off would be to use the tweezers which I already stated I don't need. The other functions are perfectly useable without removing it. Using this also rotates the key 90 degrees and extends it about 3/4" below your other keys. I dont like that.
The cutter? It's . . . sharp-'ish' and somewhat limited in its application due to its location and size. Lets just say it's no substitue for a utility knife.

Why did I buy this? It's compact. It fits with your other keys without making a big deal and I can't handle bulk on my keychain. This is also why I dont use the carabiner part. One thing I would recommend it that you have a pair of pliers handy when you take it out of the package. On a typical Kwikset (R) residential key it swings loosely and won't hold tight to the key. I bent it a bit with the pliers and tweeked it to fit more snugly on the key (the edges can be quite pokey when its not tucked around a key and not being tucked around a key takes away from the compact part).
