Product Description

Size: X-Small | Color: Blue

The only swaddle on the market that controls the startle reflex in both the arms and legs. TrueWomb replicates the feeling of mother's womb, making baby's transition to the real world happier for everyone! Legs and hips can stretch and flex while our patent-pending SwaddleTechTM system comfortably eases them back in to the fetal position that they are accustomed to. The Sleeping Swaddle is the only product that closely replicates the womb by allowing movement of the arms and the legs rather than binding them. The SwaddleTechTM Pouch design eases babies into the natural fetal position they desire while at rest, but allows the legs to fully extend and stretch while active. The upper system snugly keeps arms in place within the escape-proof SecureSleeveTM, while still allowing for natural movements. The adjustable ComfortWrapTM belt made from Soft and Flexible Velcro® creates a secure foundation at the waistline for the extension and retraction of the SwaddleTech Pouch. The Sleeping Swaddle features lightweight, breathable four-way stretch cotton to provide comfort and prevent overheating and is available in four sizes: Extra Small (XS) through Large (L).

He loves his swaddle and does not break free or cry any longer.

He still wakes up occasionally wanting his paci, but in general he seems much more comfortable since he can move his arms.

Finally a swaddler that works for a larger baby, isn't possible to wriggle out of, and isn't stretching out!

Honestly, I can't tell if I love or hate this swaddler. I've used everything from Aden+Anais muslin blankets, SwaddleMe, Miracle blankets, etc. While I love the simplicity of a plain blanket, my little Houdini can break out of it with enough wiggling, and recently learned how with my old-favorite, the Miracle blanket. At 6 months, she still rubs her eyes when tired hard enough to get upset and knocks her paci out, so I was willing to try another swaddler for a little longer, and willing to try something with velcro to keep her from waking herself up.

Now, if you don't like velcro on your swaddlers, you probably won't like this one. The velcro feels like it's just about everywhere, always getting stuck to itself in various way. There's velcro on the flaps, on the top of the foot pouch and two straps that wrap around your kid's waist. Like I said, a LOT Of velcro. And yes, it's noisy, there's just no way around it. Another gripe is that it's scratchy to me, so I feel like I HAVE to put her in a onsie, or at least a t-shirt, which is frustrating when the room is warm and I would be happy to wrap her in just a diaper. Even though the velcro waist strap instructions indicate that the straps don't have to overlap, the velcro would be rubbing against her skin if I didn't overlap them, which means more fussing with her to get it just right so there's no exposed hook-velcro on the inside. (I'm sorry, TrueWomb, but I HAVE felt softer velcro than this!) I can't imagine trying to use this with a newborn and multiple diaper changes at night, but maybe that's just me.

That said, I need to note here that you CANNOT SIZE UP with this swaddler. I tried getting a 6-9 month / large for my 15lb 5.

Let me start by saying: yes, there is a lot of velcro. There, now we can move on.

My son is 7 months old. He has been swaddled since birth and has slept 10+ hours since 3 weeks. I swaddled him successfully with a popular swaddler that uses velcro up until 14 lbs, then I purchased their large size. Unfortunately, the small was too small, but the large was too large (and there is no size in between). I tried not swaddling him for two nights in a row when he was 5 months old and it was miserable for everyone. So began my journey to find a swaddler that would fit a larger baby.

We've used 47x47" muslin swaddlers, the unnamed velcro swaddler (which we can make work, but both of our large ones have stretched out a lot and even though he is now 17 lbs (well into the suggested weight range), it is on the big side (it just keeps stretching as he grows), and now the truewomb. I have to say, the truewomb bothered me a bit at first because of all the velcro and because the fabric is a bit heavier than the unnamed swaddler which I thought might be too hot. It seemed really large and loose at first, and he could move around a lot, but he can't escape and still sleeps well through the whole night. The movement is part of the idea behind this swaddler, so I would say it works exactly as intended and is really great for us. Finally a swaddler that works for a larger baby, isn't possible to wriggle out of, and isn't stretching out!

This is a nice swaddle sack, well made with lots of velcro and solid material. I think it's too much velcro as my baby startles every time I unwrap to change his diaper. It's a bit complex, but it does have great directions printed on the material, which is cool.

HOWEVER, this is not worth the money. The swaddle me and kidopotumus swaddlers do the same job for much less $!

I used the TrueWomb swaddle with my now toddler and currently with my 7 week old. My newborn (12lb) just outgrew the small size and needed something bigger. At first, I decided to try the miracle blanket instead of getting a bigger size truewomb and boy was that a mistake! With the miracle blanket my son hated having his arms pinned down by his sides. The arm pockets in the truewomb let him keep his arms at his chest with his hands up close to his face which is much more natural. My baby was sleeping 5-6 hours straight at night in this thing - I love it! So glad I was able to find a medium size on amazon and save a little money. I don't mind the velcro so much. Yes, it is noisy but baby is awake and ready to eat when I unfasten the velcro anyway so it's not like it is waking him up.
