Gareth Renowden joined the ranks of truffle obsessives a long time ago, when he gave up life as a journalist, editor, photographer and magazine publisher in London to establish a truffiere, olive grove and vineyard in the Waipara Valley, New Zealand. He is present of the New Zealand Truffle Association.

This book is a delightful introduction to the world of truffles - not chocolate ones but rather, those that grow underground. Gareth Renowden provides all the information you need to cook with truffles and even to understand from whence they derive their unique aroma. If you have ever seen truffles on a menu and wanted to know more before you taste, this is the place to start. Well written and well illustrated, this is a "must buy" for beginners and experts alike.
