The construction seems to be very rugged, solid metal body, mount, and hood.

I like that it has red and green dot selection and having the choice of 4 different reticles and 5 brightness settings on each color is a nice feature too.

The Bad: Aluminum screws constantly worked loose, even with loctite, eventually stripping to the point of being replaced.

This is a great sight. I have it mounted on my AR-15 and have taken it shooting twice about 400 rounds of .223 through it and the sight seems to hold zero very well even with the higher recoil of the rifle. This sight actually mounts to my flat top picatinny rail and cowitnesses perfectly with my rear magpul pop up sight and the front A2 sight post. Doesn't need any kind of riser to cowitness if you have a similar setup. The brightness range works well, 2-3 works well in dark shooting ranges, the 4-5 brightness works well outside. I like the different reticles to choose from a small moa dot for long range, medium moa dot for medium to long range, and the two different circle dot reticles would work good for up close. Shoots very accurate groups both from bench and standing positions. Sighted in very easily at the range, if you are going to co witness, i just looked through the rear peep and put the dot right on the top of the front post, shot it and it was dead on, so if you co witness this dot you can sight it in without having to fire a shot. The construction seems to be very rugged, solid metal body, mount, and hood. Now this is no eotech or aimpoint sight, but at a savings of 400-500 dollars, this red dot sight does the job and does it well. I highly recommend this product if you are looking for an affordable, and good quality red dot. I have seen a few reviews of this sight being put on pistols and .22 rifles, so I wanted to let people know that it works just as well on the higher power rifles too.

**Update**
Hello all, I have now had this sight for about 10 months now and I still love it. It still holds zero very well with very little maintenance. Still have yet to replace the battery.

This TRUGLO sight is a fantastic scope! It has two allen wrenches, a cloth for lens cleaning, a 3VDC lithium battery installed, and a very simple set of instructions. It installed very easily with two hex nut style knobs that have a hole in the side that can be tightend with the supplied allen wrench used as a lever. The instructions also state to add a drop of loc-tight if desired. The mount is a picatinny/weaver style with offset mounting hardware. One pin can be removed internally to lock into the notch of the mounting rail as standard. The sight has two different colors, red and green with the selector knob/battery housing on the right hand side of the scope that has 5 intensity settings for each color. To the rear of the sight is a selctor for two dots, one 2.5 MOA, and 5 MOA. The other two settings are a 20 MOA ring with a 2.5 MOA dot and a 45 MOA ring with a 5 MOA dot. The body is built like a tank! In comparision to two other sights I had at half the price, one having broken after 500 rounds, this sight is worth the cost at under $100.00! It installed and sighted in less than 50 rounds on a 9mm Glock 17C with a polymer Mako pitol sight mount. The optics are very clear in all modes in an indoor range. I have not used the sight out doors or in bright light conditions.

The only CON: No sight cover supplied.

***Edit***
I've now used this sight on multiple outings. It is easy to zero and the zero does not drift when switched from on to off. The optic stays firmly attached to the rifle when tightened down properly and will not come off during firing. It is exceptionally accurate at out to 200 meters. It does appear to have some issue with parallax past that. Most of my targets are well within that range so no complaint. Unless it runs out of battery there is zero reason to use iron sights. This is the perfect little optic for the price. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap reflex sight.
***Original Review Below***
I bought the sight because I wanted a reflex optic. I've tried different variants on My AR-15 but none worked (cowitnessed properly) with my static front sight post. I decided to buy this one on the suggestion of one of the reviewers. I am not disappointed. The sight cowitnesses exceptionally well. I can easily see over and through the front site post while with others I could not. I am pleased with the different reticle options available on the sight. There are two dot reticles one 2.5MOA the other 5MOA. Then there are two reticles with a dot and perimeter the dots are the same MOA as before in each size but the smaller has a 20MOA perimeter and the other a 45MOA perimeter. I find the latter two reticle types to provide better eye relief when firing than just a single dot, which I feel can strain your dominant eye.
The sight is easily installed and comes with a hex key for the screws for a tighter fit. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THEM. They do not need to be tightened with the key more than a quarter turn past hand tight. Over tightening is probably the reason why so many reviewers saw the rear screw fall off.

Santa seemed to be otherwise engaged with family presents this year, he "forgot" my request for a Truglo Red-Dot sight. Not to worry, Amazon had a few in stock so I saved him a stop and sent off an order just before Christmas. I am sorry to report Amazon beat Santa, but then it's his busy time of year!

So, we have been having amazing weather here in Iowa - forecasts of 50F in the next few days, no snow, clear weather - it's amazing! So, with a few free hours today, off I went to the range to sight in the Truglo Red-Dot.

I mounted it to a weaver/picatinny rail on my Ruger .22/.45 and loaded up. Everyone has their own process for sighting in. I typically use my range bag as a gun rest and use 5-round groups. The distance today was 30 feet. I always adjust for windage first then elevation. The adjustments were simple, a left-right adjustment on the left side of the sight for windage and an elevation adjustment on the top. A single click was a quarter inch adjustment.

The Truglo mounted easily and securely. The model .22/.45 had a 5 inch barrel and the sight sat just forward of the ejection port. The Truglo provides both a red and green designator in the sight picture. Four levels of intensity are available along with four different designators from a simple dot to a concentric ring image.

Out of the box, my first group was low and left. Two magazines of 5 each provided more than enough hits to center on the target. The same process allowed the elevation to come right in as well. From then on it was simply fun. While I have a couple of red dots for my black guns (an Eotech and another Truglo), I've not tried them on a handgun before. So, I spent the next hour doing various drills - single target, multiple targets, circle drills - the Truglo worked perfectly.
