5.0 out of 5 stars The quintessential Andre sound. Highly recommended.
This is vintage Maurice Andre, recorded when his piccolo
trumpet playing was at its peak.

The final track, Martini's "Elevazione", displays much of
what is wonderful about Andre's lyrical playing: Unstrained,
full-bodied sound in the upper register; impeccable phrasing;

The final track, Martini's "Elevazione", displays much of
what is wonderful about Andre's lyrical playing: Unstrained,

the piccolo trumpet should sound like, this is it. Stunning!

For the trumpeter, this is a lesson in baroque performance
with organ. For those less concerned with the technicalities
of trumpet playing, sit back and enjoy the work of one who is
arguably the finest piccolo trumpet soloist of the twentieth
century.
