Headphones sound super good.
I also had some trouble finding the perfect fit among the five different style tips Monster provides, which vary a little in size and firmness.
Broke within a couple of months.

As the title says, these are shiny and pretty. That's about it.

The 1-star reviewer is a little extreme in saying that he wouldn't use them if given for free. I'd say, if it weren't for the pretty face, I wouldn't use these if given for free. But as with most things that Monster Cable sells, the selling point IS the pretty face, and not the substance.

I don't usually write long reviews for sucky earphones, but the Trumpets are so aesthetically amazing that I feel like it deserves a more respectable review.

As with Monster products, a lot of effort was put into packaging. The packaging is very similar to Pro Golds and Pro Coppers. One gripe I have is that the base of the CD case is merely glued onto the outer case, so it falls off because of not strong enough and insufficient glue... Why are Monster products ALWAYS falling apart because of not enough glue? Geez.

{__Build Quality__}

Excellent. Feels much sturdier than Coppers and Golds, and I assume Miles Davis Tribute as well. The housing is tiny and one piece. If it's not one piece then it definitely feels like one. I can see there isn't going to be the issue of earphone housings falling apart right out of the box because of insufficiently applied glue here.

These things are a beaut. Pictures don't do them justice, nor do videos. If you search for the Trumpets on youtube you can see my unboxing video, in which there are close up shots, but still I think you need to hold them in your fingers, feel the housing brush against your skin, and see light bouncing off its beautiful curves and lines with your own eyes to appreciate the design and beauty in these.

A specially remixed Sketches of Spain is included.

I bought these from a retail store and am very pleased with it. My personal taste for music leans more towards clear, crisp, and accurate sound. More analytical than smooth. Never cared for the B&W type sound. I bought both the Miles Davis Trumpute and the Monster Turbine Gold Pro and compared them side by side.

First the Gold Pro - definitely is smoother and easier to listen to. You still hear everything clearly but the instrument doesn't feel like it's right there or jumping out at you. However, it is very smooth and one can listen to these ear buds for hours without getting tired of the sound.

The Trumpet was extremely sharp in the beginning. Almost so that it was unbearable on some songs that had constant cymbal in the background. I decided to break it in by playing it for 30 hours straight. To my utter surprise, the sound smoothed out and became very enjoyable. I would have to say that these are my absolutely favorite pair of ear buds I have ever heard at this point. I have had E2C Shure, Bose QC15, Sony, etc. The bass is very clear and punches without being sloppy. High, mids, treble, is absolutely exquisite. Love it. Pretty amazing that these little guys can produce such accurate and wonderful sound. I have had theses on for 2-3 hours without the music feeling tiring. I have compared these with Bose QC15, and I like these more. However, the sound stage is very small compared to large over the ear headphones (QC15). Also, it is imperative that one finds the right fitting for both comfort and bass reproduction. Leakage = no bass. The noise isolation is excellent and I have worn them while blowing leaves. Works great. Also, the built for the Trumpet is "jewelry" level. Incredible details.

Lastly, both Gold Pro and Trumpet are superb.

First, these phones are discontinued, however, they are still and forever under warranty, and so this info is relevant as of today.
I think enough has been said about these phones; they are superb and absolutely demand that a good ear seal and esp. a good recording is played through them.

That said, my first pair lasted for 1-1/2 years, and then one side just stopped. It's strange, because you can still faintly hear the channel without static or interruption, which I believe means there is no cable problem. I think the "cone" is just blown or whatever.

Anyway, I called Monster and sat on hold for 45 minutes. Not cool. When I spoke to tech support I was informed immediately that they were discontinued, and the tech also immediately wanted to know how much I paid. At this point I knew something was up. He explained to me the best they could do was to replace my phones with a model that was currently available "for the amount I paid for them (!!!). I explained that Monster no longer makes a headphone that cost more than one hundred dollars, and that these were premium phones with a lifetime guarantee, regardless of whether I got them on sale or not. He insisted that there was nothing he could do, and to overcome my objection and drive home his point, he started down the rabbit hole by where he would not even consider an exchange or further the conversation until I had provided him a copy of my receipt. I felt like he was doing everything in his power to downsell me into the cheaper phones. After much verbal sparring, and this guy not relenting or compromising, I was extremely frustrated. So I asked him how could they justify making the warranty claims that they had, and then not be able to fulfill their written obligation.
