3.0 out of 5 stars Story felt bland..., October 22, 2008
This review is from: Trust in Tomorrow (Paperback)
Synopsis: A tragedy occurs in the heroine's life (19) and her father sends her to stay with his friend, hero (34) to avoid the publicity, etc. Of course, the heroine originally had a crush/hero worship since she was 12 years old. The hero is a lawyer who's personality is supposedly stiff and always tries to be proper/propriety and he has a mistress. The heroine is young but seemingly very honest, direct, frank and mature for her age even though the hero seemingly treats her like a child (at first =P) But of course, whenever a man and woman live in the same roof of course, something is always bound to happen!

My thoughts: Eh, I probably didn't really give a good synopsis but thats because there wasn't much to say about the story. Of course there is the mystery of the tragedy or should I saw the true facts but other than that its just about the heroine living in the hero's house, learning about him and falling in love with him and trying to make him see that she is truly in love with him and to accept her love is real. The story just seemed kinda dry and bland. I didn't really see the hero as someone I'd fawn over - if I like the hero, I'd be like, ooooh I wish I was the heroine, blah, blah. Hero was just ok, he didn't seem too exciting. He even gave that is sorta the reason he loves the heroine, coz she makes his life exciting -_- The heroine on the other hand was full of life but she didn't seem too believable to me. She supposedly was 19, a virgin, but she didn't act like it. She acted very blase as though she's already lived it and didn't seem too shocked about anything. Also, heroine seemed too aggressive. It almost seemed like she was forcing her affections/love to the hero that he had no choice but to concede -_- Of course the hero mentions later about their age difference, thats he's too old for her, etc. etc. Even the big reveal of the tragedy, everyone just seemed blase about it... And the father also being blase that his friend slept with his daughter. Anyhoo, this book was so-so for me. 2 1/2 stars.
