The Best Book On 6 Sensory Living,
This review is from: Trust Your Vibes: Secret Tools for Six-Sensory Living (Hardcover)
"The price people pay for ignoring their vibes is high: They end up living in fear, feeling indadequate and powerless. They make decisions that aren't good for them, which leads them to places other than where they want to be. They become anxious and addictive, acting aggressively, even violently, toward those they love, thus alienating themselves even more. They become stressed, even physically ill, and enjoy no real peace of mind. Wandering around in the darkness of second guessing and worry, they fight against life or get trampled beneath it and fail to achieve their purpose or spiritual goals, thus wasting, instead of living, their lives." --Sonia Choquette, PhD. in Trust Your Vibes
For those who dwell in the realm of five-sensory living, the idea of being guided daily by intuition may seem illogical, flaky, and "woo woo". Others may view the concept of trusting vibes as mysterious and exotic, relegated to only "special" people born with psychic gifts. However, in the new book Trust Your Vibes: Secret Tools for Six-Sensory Living, spiritual teacher and psychic Sonia Choquette de-mystifies the process of using your intuition--or vibes--to navigate through life. Choquette, who has actively used her psychic perception since age 12, asserts than anyone can access their sixth sense. In fact, she believes it's absolutely urgent that humanity begin to awaken to their intuition. We are hurting one another, killing in the name of God, and drugging ourselves in epidemic proportions. Where does six-sensory living come in? It helps us to realize how we are all interconnected and interdependent, which in turn helps us in healing ourselves, our relationships, and the planet. According to Choquette: "Following our vibes serves as a great deterrent to the downward spiral of personal and global self-destruction that we find ourselves tangled in today. When we trust our vibes, we restore our balance and experience within--which, ultimately, leads to peace without." An often frustrating aspect to self-development style books is that we're usually instructed on what to do (or not to do)...but it's rare to find a book that also connects the dots as to the whys and hows. Not only does Choquette offer compelling evidence as to the "whys", but she also outlines 33 secret practices that six-sensory people use every day to navigate the unseen world of spirit--the "hows". Weaving in astounding stories from her personal and professional experience--as well as those of her clients, colleagues, and students--Choquette illustrates the whys and hows of hearing, trusting, and following intuition. Here are a few small exercerpts from the 33 secret practices: Secret 5: Easy Does It "...Adrenaline is a highly toxic and addictive substance if you're subjected to it in large quantities...Besides being difficult to wean from, excessive adrenaline is to your intuition what kryptonite is to Superman: lethal. A burst of adrenaline may leave you feeling temporarily powerful, but will end up depleting you..." Secret 7: Observe, Don't Absorb "...It's a myth that caring requires commiserating. Caring means allowing somoene space to sort things out without throwing your emotions into the already-overloaded mix..." Secret 14: Write It Down "...Recording your vibes is the most direct physical way to march your mind across the bridge from an ego-based, five-sensory reality to a spirit-based, six-sensory one. Like a diver on a treasure hunt, each newly seized message from your psychic sense will help build a platform of reason on which to stand. You'll no longer just have a feeling--you'll have verification that your vibes are legitimate guides that help you in life..." Secret 28: Laughing Matters "...Some people can't distinguish between the ego and the sixth sense. Here's the difference: Your spirit is relaxed, forgiving, and laughs a lot, especially at you and your own antics; and your ego is critical and controlling and rarely laughs at anything, especially itself. The soul gently requests and trusts, while the ego demands and is suspicious. The soul is light and easy and loves adventures; the ego can be harsh and heavy and gets stuck in the mud..." Every once in awhile, I come across a book that I enjoy so thoroughly and find so pratical and valuable that I wish I could give a copy to everyone I know and meeet. This is one such book. If you're a five-sensory person interested in accessing, trusting, and following your intuition, Trust Your Vibes shows you how to change the rules that run your life (and make you miserable), leading you back to your inner psychic navigational system. If living a six-sensory life is as natural to you as breathing, you'll gain valuable information on enhancing intuitive perception, operating from a soul-based perspective rather than an ego-based one, and living more joyfully and enthusiastically. As Choquette says "The lovers of life are the healers of life because they're the believers of life." Janet Boyer, author of The Back in Time Tarot Book: Picture the Past, Experience the Cards, Understand the Present (coming Fall 2008 from Hampton Roads Publishing)

Rational Approach to the Extrasensory,
By
This review is from: Trust Your Vibes: Secret Tools for Six-Sensory Living (Hardcover)
I have been a fan of Sonia Choquette's work for the last few years. Her warm, down-to-earth writing style makes the metaphysical aspect of life not only remarkable but absolutely believable. This latest work of hers is no exception. She gives suggestions on how to open up your psychic sense in a graduated format - each exercise builds on the previous one. Yet, since these exercises can simultaneously stand on their own, you can take the parts of the book you are most comfortable with and forget the rest if you want to. I have been involved in metaphysical studies for several years and own at least a hundred books in the subject matter - and this one ranks right up at the top for it's clear-cut suggestions and conversational tone. This and Ms. Choquette's other publications are well worth the cover prices, especially for people new to the topic.

Well-grounded advice on living with integrity,
This review is from: Trust Your Vibes: Secret Tools for Six-Sensory Living (Paperback)
I'd never heard of Sonia Choquette before, but work in a library and have seen and read literally hundreds of books on this topic over the past 10 years. I was about to dismiss this one, as I feel like I've read enough books of this nature and should move on to other topics....'-) As I quickly skimmed through some of the chapters, however, I was impressed by how grounded, sensible and "high level" Ms. Choquette's work really is. This is not just a book about trusting your vibes; it is a really well-rounded and well-GROUNDED manual for living a life of kindness (to yourself and others), integrity - (being TRUE to yourself and others) and creativity (encouraging the development and expression of our talents and passions). The author has a strong grasp of some really key spiritual ideals (including Christian, Buddhist, Sufi) and she describes the value of meditation and quiet in stilling the mind to connect with our higher selves. She does this in a way that speaks to the truth in all of us without much reference to religion or spirituality per se. If I were to recommend just one book on developing intuition, connecting with your higher self, or general self-development, I would actually feel comfortable in recommending this one because of its breadth, simplicity and the obvious integrity of its author. If you truly followed just one of her tools for developing what she calls "six-sensory living" your life would improve immeasurably. Many of her tools I've tried myself as presented by other writers and teachers and they all do work.

Changed my life,
By lifelovepeace "qeperjesi" (Belgium) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trust Your Vibes: Secret Tools for Six-Sensory Living (Paperback)
I listen to Hayhouse radio all the time and I kept hearing Trust your Vibes over and over. Finally, I bought it to see what it is all about. I have been working on self-help happiness, peace, & joy for years. I love Wayne Dyer, but this book truly took me where I needed to go. I drowned out my instincts for years, I would sleep with my TV on (to spongebob, can you believe it) so I didn't have to worry, hear my thoughts, and deal with my anxiety. The more I ignored my thoughts and my instincts the more miserable I became. I started to get really jealous over nothing. So I was desperate. So I bought this book and I also bought the Trust Your Vibes Oracle Cards. Well needless to say - this book saved my happiness and my husband loves my new attitude, I stopped drowning out that voice in the back of my head that was telling me the right path to take. I stopped listening to my lying EGO who was always afraid to make a decision, I think this is what I have been searching for --the last piece of the puzzle to move on and enjoy life. I wasted so much time. Also, everyone I work with wants me to pull them a card everyday. I don't even care what people think of me anymore, I even talk about my intuition and intent all the time. The craziest things have been happening and people are flowing into my life. Check out the Green Fire in the book - it will help you start a new begining.
This book and oracle cards have been a blessing for me. I can't get enough of it.

Uplifting and informative,
This review is from: Trust Your Vibes: Secret Tools for Six-Sensory Living (Paperback)
In Trust Your Vibes, Sonia shares countless suggestions for increasing your intuitive awareness and living ahappier life.
Some of the tips she suggests for increasing intuitive awareness are playing intuitive games where you try to guess what the outcome of something is going to be, what is going to happen next, and in general paying attention not only to what your mind tells you, but also to what your heart and your body tell you, what do you sense and how do you feel. Sonia also offers many useful suggestions for dealing with increasing sensitivity of which also you may become aware in different ways - through sounds, physical sensations, smells, or in any other way. If you feel stuck, Sonia suggests you ask for help from above, simply by saying "Help" to God, angels, spirits guides, devas, deities, ancestors, saints, etc. - whoever you feel affinity to according to your beliefs and spiritual practices. Sonya also suggests many different ways to pick yourself up, if someone or something has pulled you energetically down - think of something you love or something you can feel grateful for and when you feel recharged with energy deal with the issue appropriately.

Making the mystical attainable and practical,
By
This review is from: Trust Your Vibes: Secret Tools for Six-Sensory Living (Paperback)
Wow! I loved this book.
It is an easy read and doesn't get caught up the New Age mumbo jumbo that characterizes so many books of this kind. I honestly believe that any person could pick the book up and read it. One doesn't have to buy into anything Sonia Choquette says, and she alone doesn't claim to have the answers, but so much of what she says makes sense, and I experienced many "Ah ha" moments as I went through this reader-friendly book. Trust Your Vibes offers snippers of information and suggestions that can be of use in everyday life, even for those people who choose not to believe in the author's words. However, she makes a compelling case. More than talking about being aware of the messages of our sixth sense, the book also encourages one to live from the heart, which, to me, is a beautiful message, and it offers practical, easy ways of making this one's way of life. The message and the methods are very positive without being unobtainable. I have taken a look around her website and listened to some of the things she has to say while there, and she appeals to me as someone with sixth-sensory skills that the average Joe can relate to. I would say "trust you vibes", those feelings we get but can't explain. They invariably prove accurate, and it is only when we question them, mulling them over in our minds, that they prove "wrong". But by that stage, they are no longer our vibes! An interesting book, with a lovely message, I highly recommend it.

Down to Earth,

This review is from: Trust Your Vibes: Secret Tools for Six-Sensory Living (Paperback)
This book, is for the beginner, just starting to ponder various realities and possibilities, as well as for the advanced and seasoned practitioner of spiritual enlightenment. I love sonia, she is down to earth, makes clear sense of intuition and how we can use it to attain a greater enlightened self awareness. Some of the things in her books, might seem silly, until you put them into practice. I have her other book, Ask your Guides. In one of the books, she talks about "runners." Runners are spirits that go ahead of you to clear the way, if we only ask them to. Example, please get me a parking spot.(to the runners, we ask).. at first, I thought, o.k. this is a little nutty...guess what, have been doing this now for about a month, the runners are there, people, even when it looks like I will not find a spot when I need one, at the last minute someone clears out, or there is "one" spot left...usually only "one." It is quite amazing when we "ask."
