The two sides album,
By "trust37" (PARIS France) - See all my reviews

It took two long years for this much expected LP to be released. We have to admit that the recording sessions dragged on. The critics are mitigated: some scream for scandal, others salute a fabulous album. It's true that this LP is less accessible than its predecessor, especially with its second act called "The Devil Side" with which TRUST opens the way to "Black Metal"...We can have some questions in mind about the future direction. The lyrics are less raw than before, except maybe "Uptown Martyrs"...There's more "lyrical flight" showing some well established truth. The fact remains that a part of the fans leaves the ship, accusing the band to have become "commercial", a fashionable word in the 80's... It's more fair to tell that we deal with a band who is looking for a new way and who is trying to escape from its Hard Rock image in order to get a "rock" label less restrictive, and which is something that TRUST wanted for a long time. As for the previous two LPs, there will be an English version of this disc, called "Man's Trap" ( "Trust IV" or "Ideal" in French ).

The Best Live Album !,
By "trust37" (PARIS France) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trust (Live) (Audio CD)
Cool an other live album ! It's what everybody thought when this album was released in 1992... And what an live album ! The best moments of the 1980 tour. Sure there will be some people to tell that TRUST take the occasion to release this live album at the same time as the AC/DC "Live" to give it a chance to follow its great brother...Let's talk, let's talk...Anyway the radio put in heavy rotation the couple "Antisocial / Highway to Hell" like at the good old times back in the 80's...And it's a good deal. The album is good, very good. However, two regrets emerge : "L'Elite" doesn't appear on this CD and why not release a double live album ? We start to hope for a second reunion...Already 4 years since the split. Won't they let us wait for 4 years, do an album and split again ? Nevermind, for such a good album like this one, we are ready to wait....

Got this in vinyl YEARS ago, and am happy to find it on CD. Still don't know what all of it means, but even to an english-only speaker the tone conveys sooooooo much.
