5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book on the Market!!!
There is such a wealth of knowledge in this little book and if people were to find out how much was contained therein, it would sell for a million dollars a copy. Unfortunately the world has little interest in this kind of outlook and spirituality. Reading it has changed my life and lives of many others. ... So please...buy the original...Trustful Surrender to Divine...

1.0 out of 5 stars Flawed theology
1. The premise of this book is that God controls directly every occurrence that happens in the world. In other words, God micromanages everything and is directly responsible for everything. Therefore we should receive everything as coming to us through the loving hands of God.
2. In my opinion, this is not a biblical theology and it contradicts the Catholic...

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite simply the greatest thing I've read (after scripture), December 28, 2000
This review is from: Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence: The Secret of Peace and Happiness (Paperback)
There are not enough words for me to describe the impact of this book on my life and on others I know.

One warning however - despite its timeless truths, this is not for everyone. If you're reading it and either arguing with it or being confused by it, put it down and leave it alone for a time. For everything there is a season.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple concept - profound results, November 11, 2001

This review is from: Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence: The Secret of Peace and Happiness (Paperback)
I have to confess I was resistant to reading Trustful Surrender. I am a yoga meditation teacher and I did not want to read another book on Catholic doctrine. (I love the Catholic mystics however). This book was a pleasant and powerful surprise and it had a surprising influence on me. The basic concept is so simple - trustful surrender as an attitude towards ones life. It seems so simple .....till you try it. I discovered how willful and controling I am...and how this willful attitude caused me tension and suffering.

Whether or not your are a Christian, if you can read this with an open mind the concepts presented are revolutionary. The Yoga Sutras, (the yoga version of the Bible) goes on for 190 + terse sentences about all the different yoga practices that will lead to enlightenment and an understanding of oneself....but then in one sentence it says...... All of this can also be accomplished by surrender to God.

Give the book a try. Its well worth (dollar amount).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!!!! A must read!!!!, August 20, 1998

This review is from: Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence: The Secret of Peace and Happiness (Paperback)
Even though this book was written in the 17th Century, it is very relevant today. By accepting good fortune or adversity and seeing it as God's perfect will in our lives is the key to finding secret of happiness and contentment. The book also gives steps to trustful surrender and motivation for constant prayer.

5.0 out of 5 stars A definite life-changer!, October 3, 2000

One of the most impactful books I have ever read - As the sub-title of this book suggests, the text within does indeed hold the secret to peace and happiness -- all that is required of the reader is sincere faith.

It has not only dramatically re-shaped my thinking on the larger meaning of life, but it has also had a significant positive impact on how I view events that happen during the course of day-to-day living. Not a day goes by that I am not reminded of and comforted by the wisdom contained in this work. I recommend this to everyone - it is simply the best 139 pages you will ever read!

5.0 out of 5 stars eye opening and soul opening, October 3, 2001

This review is from: Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence: The Secret of Peace and Happiness (Paperback)
I just purchased this book and find that the best way to feed my soul with its wisdom is to read and reflect on a small portion each day. I agree with the reviewer who says that not everyone will be able to accept its truths, but for those who can do so quickly (or eventually) it is one of the most perfect paths to peace one can experience. I highly recommend it. Again, it can be difficult to swallow at times, but with adequate contemplation it will become clearer to the point of making perfect sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trustful Surrender, April 22, 2007
This review is from: Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence: The Secret of Peace and Happiness (Paperback)
I have seen on other reveiws a criticism of this book. The criticism is basically a refusal to accept that everything that happens in our lives is indirectly or directly willed by God. This is a hard truth, but one whose acceptance brings much peace. I think is a great book especially for someone who is struggling to practice patience(or really any other virtue). After reading this book I realized that patience is really submission to God's will for us in the present moment. Once we can accept that even difficult situations and/or people are a gift from God, an opportunity to practice virtue and show Jesus how much we love Him, we can grow spiritually. The physical size of this book is also a plus, as it easily fits in purses etc.
