Best known as the powerhouse lead vocalist for one of Gospel’s most acclaimed and awarded groups, The Crabb Family, Jason Crabb’s career has already been an incredible ride. While garnering multiple Dove Awards, three GRAMMY nominations, and 16 #1 singles with his family, Jason has become one of the Christian music community’s most acclaimed vocalists. Crabb has become a “fan favorite” at the Grand Ole Opry, appeared regularly on the Gaither Homecoming Series videos, and was honored to sing for the Rev. Billy Graham’s final crusade in New York. He has sung with the legendary Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, among many other diverse and prestigious opportunities. The first time I saw Jason Crabb in concert, I had never even heard of him before, it was in Augusta, GA. (There are a lot of Southern Gospel singers I had never heard of before until I started watching the Gaither Gospel Hour on TV). It was his first visit to The Sanctuary, and I did not know he was going to be there that morning. This was my first time in church in over a month. I had been going thru some things and I guess I thought I was hiding things from God by not going to church (right). God really used Jason Crabb's music and message to break down some barriers in my life that morning.

Jason Crabb is the real thing. He truly loves God, and it shows. His book is down to earth, easy to understand, and Jason makes no bones about what is Truth and what is not. I highly recommend this book to believers and nonbelievers alike. This would also be a great book for new believers to read.

Jason, as Bill Gaither said in an interview with you and your brothers and sisters, you really need to sing "Through the Fire" at every concert you do from now until the Lord comes back. The message of that song has gotten me thru some really rough spots, so I know that it will help others in the same way. God never promised it would be easy, as a matter of fact, He promised that it would not be easy. Listening to Through the Fire helps remind me that I am not, and never will be, perfect in this life on earth, just forgiven. Oh, but more than that, it reminds me that no matter what I am going through, God will never forsake me. What a promise to hold onto!

Sorry this has gotten so long, but there is one more thing that I want to share. About a month ago my husband asked me for a divorce. I was devastated, we have been married 25 years.

Using the narrative of the Gerald Crabb penned song, Through The Fire, Jason Crabb shares the story of his life. We go through the ups and downs of his life from a youngster until now. Who better to tell their story than someone who has been in the fire? I'm glad that Jason did not back down and chose to tell his story honestly and bluntly. It shows how God can mold an ole country boy into one of the greatest gospel singers ever. Buy this one today, it will make a great Christmas gift.

I am a big fan of the Crabb Family, and have several of their CDs, and was disappointed when they broke up and went their separate ways. However, Jason's solo CD is great and he is doing well in his solo endeavor. When I had the opportunity to review Jason's book, I grabbed it, and was not disappointed.

He tells a lot of stories from the road - good, bad, funny, tells a lot about his growing up years and how they got started in their ministry. The book is woven around the Crabb Family's best song ever, "Through The Fire." Each chapter is about a line in the song.

Jason is very honest in this book. He tells of his struggles and battles, of he and his wife going through two miscarriages, and how hard it was to keep faith and keep doing what he needed to be doing at that time.

Though the book does talk a lot about the minstry of the Crabb Family, and now his own solo ministry, this is a book of encouragement. One does not need to be a Crabb Family fan, or even a Southern Gospel fan, to enjoy this book and be helped by it. It is interesting, easy to read, and is very encouraging

I am reading this book now and I am thoroughly enjoying it. It definitely is not boring by no means. I had the privilege to see Jason in person on Friday, August 12, 2011. It was my first time seeing him in person. Jason is an awesome singer and also an awesome preacher. Although that night, he said he really does not call himself a preacher. To me, he is a very good preacher. Jason did a great job on this book. I think Jason is a very humble man and he definitely enjoys what he does. The book gives not only the pretty pictures in life, but also talks about the struggles. You will not be disappointed if you decided to get this book. I have a hard time putting it down when I pick it up to read. There are not a lot of books that I can say that about.

This book is very inspirational, and I really enjoyed learning more about one of my favorite gospel singers. In fact, not only did I purchase this book for myself, I gifted a friend and my church with a copy. I love the song that Gerald Crabb wrote, "Through The Fire", and how his son, Jason, used the lyrics as a basis for his book. It is a good read and I think anyone could gain some insight into how to trust God to take us through the fire of daily living.

Everyone that knows me knows what a fan I am of his. I had the privilege to sing songs written by him and his Father. I have always admired their work and their faith. Reading this book makes me admire him even more. His journey as a solo artist has only begun but he is going to be great!
