Book Description

CHLOE WILDER is newly pregnant and running from her abusive boyfriend. She needs a home more than ever before. Chloe takes refuge in Arden, Maine - a sleepy, coastal town where she finally thinks she can be safe. JAYDEN PETERSON abandoned his career as a city cop after accidentally shooting a child. Jayden quickly agrees to fill his father’s shoes as Arden’s police chief. Determined to protect his loved ones and unsure if he can ever pull his gun again, Jayden is relieved to stay where the worst crime that will ever happen is jaywalking - or so he thinks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story, bad editing February 9, 2014

I liked the idea of the story, but it was short! I read it in one sitting and (maybe it's just the kindle version??) it looked like it needed some serious editing help. Sooo many typos. For me that takes away from the flow of the story big time. So for that I give it 3 stars. There were also parts that transitioned a bit awkwardly and I think if it had been better fleshed out, it would have been worth a forth star. I recommend reading this if you're looking for a quick, easy read and can ignore editing problems.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sweet story December 10, 2013
Chloe is an abused young lady running for her life and ends up in a small town in Maine. Jayden is a cop who is hiding from his past back home in the same little town. As Chloe and Jayden start to form more than a friendship, Chloe feels she needs to keep running to keep her new found friends safe. I enjoyed the story and thought Ms Reed did a really good job of showing how both Chloe and Jayden deal with the emotional baggage they come with. My niece shares some of the same issues as Chloe and found her strength believable in her escape. I applaud Ms Reed for including the shelter and trying to see how abuse shapes some women's lives. I liked the story but I think my biggest challenge was not really connecting Chloe to the fear she was feeling. We enter the story when Chloe is leaving in the middle of the night and don't really know why she is supposed to be afraid. I never really understood why her ex was after her, I guess it could be that Chloe doesn't really know anything about her ex's issues but I never really got caught up in why she was supposed to be afraid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Story May 21, 2014
Emma Leigh Reed's Trusting Love is a true page turner. She really captures the fear of someone running from an abusive relationship. The inability to trust and the fear that others will be harmed is a strong concern for her main character, Chloe. Reed has developed a style that weaves reality with fiction and has you routing for the characters. I enjoyed this book immensely and cannot wait to see what else she publishes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book by Emma Leigh Reed December 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Another book written by someone that is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I've enjoyed each of her books. This one was full of emotions taking you through Chloe's journey from running away from her problems in a troubled relationship, to her finally standing up to her problems and facing them. It was hard to put the book down.

5.0 out of 5 stars great read January 6, 2014

I really enjoyed this latest book by Emma Leigh Reed. The characters came alive for me and I found myself wondering what was going to happen next. It also opened my eyes to just a bit of what battered women must experience.
Not only entertaining but informative.

More About the Author

Emma Leigh Reed has lived in New Hampshire all her life. She has fond memories of the Maine coastline and incorporates the ocean into all her books. She lives in a small town with her three children, although now it is mostly her and her Springer Spaniel to keep her company as empty-nesting has started. Her life has been touched and changed by her son's autism - she views life through a very different lens than before he was born. Growing up as an avid reader, it was only natural for Emma Leigh to turn to creating the stories for others to enjoy.
