I have read and reread Naomi Aldort's amazing book "Raising Our Children, Raising Ourselves" so many times and have found that to be such a wonderful resource as I strive to be the best parent I can be. To be able to figure out myself as a parent first and why I act/respond the way I do, and then to apply that to the way I raise my child is truly a gift. And that is what this book/CD is to me - an incredible gift that is changing myself, my marriage and my child's life as I can choose to parent him differently that I was raised. I was so impressed with her book, that I bought these CD's for my husband so he can share in this rich knowledge for himself in the car on his way to and from work. He now wants to buy these for his dad friends as every day he walks in the door, he has some new information to share with me or to demonstrate with our son that makes our home such a happy place to be a child AND a parent.

Naomi has it right - parenting is no longer a struggle if you understand yourself first, and the way you were parented, and then you will be able to have your blinders removed to parent your children with joy and peace instead of the struggle we are falsely led to believe parenting is simply about. I wish every parent chould have access to such amazing insight in helping to change the world one parent and child at a time!

I love this as a teacher and a parent! I haven't even gotten all the way through I just obtained these CD's and I can't get enough.

I love her book of the same name. Her work inspires me and changed my family life. However, this set of cd's is a recording of her talks at a conference and it really isn't all that interesting and as other reviewers have mentioned it is even hard to hear what is being asked in the audience. This just isn't a compelling product or what I was expecting at all.

Naomi Aldorts insights are, as usual, wonderful and very helpful. Its just a shame that the recording quality is low and makes it difficult to hear what is being said at times.

The content of the CD's is worth the money but the quality really isn't. They should be quite a bit cheaper based on sound quality alone.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. This is not a mainstream parenting book. The author practices attachment parenting (co-sleeping, extended breastfeeding, etc) and she's also a homeschooler. Much of what she said resonated deeply with me. She seems to be very in touch with her children and offers ways of interacting with children that really respects who they are as people. I really liked her perspective on rewards and punishments, chore charts and things of that nature. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a way to preserve your connection with your child and to understand the meaning behind some of their behaviors. When you understand the motivation, it's easier to interact in meaningful ways.
