An underrated masterpiece,
By
This review is from: The Truth (Audio CD)
The truth is a New-Jack masterpiece too often underrated by many. The up-tempos are super-groovy and it was, for me, in this direction that R&B had to go. Sadly, for Aaron, the slower (and for me, boring to tears!) hip-hop soul of Sean "Puffy" Combs and R.Kelly were going to dominate the charts from 1994 until now.I hope in a come-back of a more funky and up-tempos oriented R&B. Aaron Hall could be one of the major influencial singer for the future singers and producers...and by this way come back to light again. I love you Aaron. You're the best R&B singer.

Aaron Hall's "The Truth" WILL SET YOU FREE,

Coming off the success of New Jack Swing Supergroup, GUY, Aaron Hall comes with "The Truth", his debut solo album. Truly one of the best voices in R&B music, Aaron presents a wonderful work of sophisticated ballads and rough uptempo tracks.Considered "The Nastyman",he lets loose this reputation with "Get A Little Freaky With Me" and "Open Up". He also brings back a ajazz you up version of his #1 R&B song from the JUICE motion picture soundtrack, "Don't Be Afraid". Until I Found You" serves as a mellow transition from his nasty side, where he expresses to the love of his life. Once "The Nastyman" persona leaves, "The Voice" comes to rouse spiritual awakening. "Don't Be Afraid" (Sex you down some mo mix) stirs the soul, and "Let's Make Love" is self explanatory."When You Need Me", "I Miss You",and "Until the End of Time" are strong ballads that just saturate your mind with love. Indeed, Aaron Hall can do no wrong, with The Truth on his side.Ronaldo Davis

Oh, what memories this album brings to mind!,

I stuck in an unmarked audiotape the other evening, preparing to tape a radio program to listen to at a later time. I accidentally pressed, "play" and, to my surprise, a song started playing. I decided to let the tape play for a bit, trying to recall whom it was that I was listening to. My sister entered and asked, "What made you put on my Aaron Hall CD?" Aaron Hall!!! That's whom I was hearing. Man, how I had forgotten how strong and captivating was his voice. The album took me back to the NEW JACK SWING days of the early 90's when Hall and others were amassing hit after hit of this soulful sound. The fact of the matter is that Aaron Hall should have given contemporary R. Kelly a run for his money. Both entered the musical scene at about the same time, releasing noteworthy debut albums. What happened to Hall is a mystery to me!!! "The Truth" stands as one of the best of the new jack swing sound, complimentary to anything done by the singer as a part of GUY as well as other more successful acts like New Edition and Keith Sweat. The album is a definite "keeper" for anyone that wore his high-top FADE, parachute pants, or round-rimmed glasses.

I love Aaron Halls music. It makes me mad that they don't hardly play his music on the radio any more. I love the song I miss you. If it was up to me I would listen to that song everyday. yes, I love Aaron Hall

Very good solo effort,

This is a very good solo effort by "The Nastyman" Aaron Hall. Although I am not impressed with any of his later efforts, this CD is definitely one of my favorites from the late '90's. In particular, "Don't Be Afraid" (the slow version) and "Until The End of Time". Too bad he doesn't make music like that anymore! I would recommend this CD to anyone who is/was a Guy fan, or an Aaron Hall fan.

Very Good,

A the time of the release this was one of the best records out at the time. I miss you is a classic song that will never get old. The rest of the record is not all that great because of the fast songs, but all of the love ballads are very good which brings up the rating.

The first time I purchased this CD, I thought this will be a great CD. When Aaron Hall was with Guy they were awesome. Since I know that Aaron was the heart and soul of Guy, I knew his CD was gonna be great.Anyone whom purchases this CD will love it: it talks about hurt, love, being in love and making love. Enjoy.

....and I can name more than a few who are on the top 20 list as we speak, but I won't. Suffice it to say that this is the CD evvry Sisqo lover should have. It's a pity that "I Miss You" did not give Aaron the attention he deserves...
