5.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Philips is the funniest guy in the world!
The funniest thing I ever saw in my life was Phil Phillips appearing on "Eagles Nest" with Pastor Gary Greenwald (another paranoid satan-under-the-bed nitwit). Phil went on for a full half hour talking about how Smurfs are evil because they are "depictions of little dead creatures". Why, you may ask? Well, they're blue, and have black lips. What...

1.0 out of 5 stars This guy is nuts!
Sorry to say, but I don't agree with this guy at all. He doesn't even know a thing about "Power Rangers" It has changed so many times, and he's so wrong. The original Power Rangers were the ones that started the DARE program. It is not cheap also, and there is no sexual context in it, out of 9 years that Power Rangers have been on, I've only seen 4 short...

The original Power Rangers were the ones that started the DARE program. It is not cheap also, and there is no sexual context in it, out of 9 years that Power Rangers have been on, I've only seen 4 short kissing scences. And to those parents that have 4 year olds, the show is rate TVY7 so pay a bit more attention, thanks, Steven

1.0 out of 5 stars The author is wrong, June 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Truth About Power Rangers (Paperback)
The show he is talking about is a great show. Power Rangers teach lessons of life unlike all the other shows (or almost) that I have seen. The problem about this book is that the guy didn't or couldn't look into the real meaning of the show and just looked at the superficial part of it. That part is violent. But the thing is that parents that say that Power Rangers are bad didn't even look at it, so they can't tell their kids what to learn from this show... Those are bad parents since they don't interest themselves at what their kids are doing... I do not recommend this book at all.

2.0 out of 5 stars What I think of the book:, July 23, 2001
By
This review is from: The Truth About Power Rangers (Paperback)
The Book basically contents the reasons why not to watch the Power Rangers, have good redaction, and elocuent arguments, but, acording with my opinion, it's just another book against a sucessfull serie by attacking it with religion. Acording to the arguments used against PR, all the series of TV are wrong. Instead of be named "The Truth Abot Power Rangers" should be called, "The Truth About the actual TV Shows for children". The book no only attack the TV shows, but the Martial Arts practice. In my opinion, the Power Rangers give a good mesage to the children, by studing, don't quit the school, and make their best in everything they do, and showing comun troubles among the youth, and how they shouldn't feel guilty about things that aren't their fault, like the parents divoce.

Oh jeez... just what we need. Another "X popular show/game/movie/book" is going to RUIN AMERICAN CHILDREN!

I wonder just how many parents bought into this bull when Power Rangers was still a big deal...

1.0 out of 5 stars The only reson I gave it 1 star is ,,,,, July 8, 2003
This review is from: The Truth About Power Rangers (Paperback)
becasue it didnt have a "no star" option...I have watched this show since the very beginning and the only thing this guy is talking about is how bad a show it is...well, considering that the majority of people who watch it are atleast 13 then the violence and "action" is what they want to see any way...and the only reason this guy wrote this book is because he feels that...for reasons beyond my understanding...he feels he has the right to say whatever he wants about things he dont even know about...quite frankly...this book is not even worth a dollar and the only thing i would use it for is fuel for a fire.

1.0 out of 5 stars The REAL Truth About Power Rangers, December 4, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Truth About Power Rangers (Paperback)
Power Rangers started off with a low budget compared to today, but has steadily escalated. Power Rangers now uses expensive, well designed sets. Of course it has violence -- how else can a group of heroes save the Earth from evil forces? I have never heard "acid rock music" on the show. What is wrong with martial arts in a show? I see no harm in exposing children to a practice that teaches self-respect, morals, and much more. I'd love to see examples of sexual iNNuendos on Power Rangers, other than the "nice stems" line. You may read way too deep into things. Occult? Are you talking about a sorcerer sending down monsters to battle spandex-clad superheroes? Power Rangers has more than a quick moral for governmental standards. It provides lessons for people of all ages throughout the show. And if you think THIS show is horrible, check out some tokusatsu shows that Power Rangers is based on.

This review is from: The Truth About Power Rangers (Paperback)
This guy does NOT know what he's talking about. Power Rangers is a great show. It teaches kids moral values, it gets kids interested in martial arts, the acting is great, the directing is great, the plot is great, basically EVERYTHING about Power Rangers is great. I do not recommend this book, and I never will.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tv is not a babysitter, January 14, 2012
This review is from: The Truth About Power Rangers (Paperback)
This guy is #uc!^g nuts! Ok here is the problem some lazy parents use tv as a babysitter. If you let your children watch a show and don't talk about it with them then what they do is your fault not the shows. That being said how do you have a plot with no conflict? You can't have the rangers in vite the monsters over for tea and cookies that would be really boaring. Implied sexual inuendo? I haven't seen that when I watched. Tommy and kimberly were dateing and that was about it.

1.0 out of 5 stars The fight scenes usually do not last more then 8 minutes!, July 27, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Truth About Power Rangers (Paperback)
I have to admit, I've never read this book, but I read all of the "look inside" and I just thought I should write a review. So anyway, getting to the point: The author needs to do a little more research. Most of what I read seems to be focused on the pilot, which only aired once. As much as I love Power Rangers, and have watched "Day of the Dumpster" (The first episode) to many times to count, I can't seem to find the whole thing about Zordon and the Time Warp. As for metamorphosis, it WAS stated in "Day of the Dumpster"! Zordon says they can morph into a super-human fighting force. Kimberly is confused ("Morph?"), Billy (The smart one) fills in excitedly "Metamorphosis!" and Trini (Equally smart) fills in for Kim: "It means to change." It's true that the teens do not-so-every-day stuff every day, BUT, nothing they do is EVER unsafe. They always wear protective padding when biking, roller-blading, scuba diving, and all that good stuff. In "Day of the Dumpster", Jason is shown teaching a martial arts class at Ernie's Juice Bar and Youth Center (the teens hangout). He goes over what martial arts helps to teach (No, beating-up bad guys is not included!), and when Bulk and Skull show up, wanting to learn to "Beat people up", Jason calmly tells them that's not what martial arts was developed for. Also, I just want to let people know who the original Power Rangers are: Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger, Trini Kwan/Yellow Ranger, Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger, Kimberly Ann Hart/Pink Ranger, and Zack Taylor/Black Ranger. I hope you find this review helpful as to why I do not recommend this book!

Phil went on for a full half hour talking about how Smurfs are evil because they are "depictions of little dead creatures". Why, you may ask? Well, they're blue, and have black lips. What happens to you when you die? You turn blue and your lips turn black! I swear I'm not making this up! He also said that Rainbow Brite was a symbol of new age occultism due to the five pointed star on her cereal box.

I have to have this book. If it is one-tenth what I think it will be, I'll be in stitches for weeks!
